VMware Fusion makes your Windows-on-Mac experience safe and reliable, with great features like AutoProtect automated snapshots and a complimentary 12-month subscription to McAfee VirusScan Plus.
Switching is a snap
Moving to VMware Fusion has never been easier. Windows Easy Install gets you up and running in a couple of clicks. Plus, importing non-VMware virtual machines is as simple as point-and-click.
If you're a current Boot Camp user, you can run VMware Fusion right on top of your existing Boot Camp partition. And when you're ready, just import your Boot Camp partition and reclaim unused space.

I purchased Fusion 2 primarily to run Windows Quicken on my iMac. In doing so I discovered that Windows XP indeed boots and runs …Read morefaster on my iMac than on my laptop. I've configured 40 gigs of disk space and one half gig of RAM (out of four gigs) for the virtual PC. So to my mind it doesn't require much in the way of resources for what it provides.
It is easy to install and has little to no learning curve. Fusion 2 'fuses' all of the iMac's input and output devices such as sound and network cards, etc automatically during a Windows install. I had no driver issues at the end of the installion.
I love the "Unity" setting which brings Windows into the Mac graphical user interface. Nice to see my Excel, Access and Quicken applications on the 'Doc'. It truly merges the two computer worlds into one transparent platform. Ah! For once to purchase something that works even better than the company says it will - BRAVO!!(57 of 60 people found this review useful)

This is the biggest waste of money that I have spent in my conversion from PC to Mac; also a big mistake for me. I have lost my c…Read moreomplete virtual machine as well as all my Quicken files. Unfortunately none of the data will back up on my Mac or my expensive external hard drive. Though Apple sells this software with the iMac, there is no support for it. Of course there is absolutely no support at VMware. I find the whole iMac experience user unfriendly and awkward as compared to Microsoft Windows. The escape from the threat of viruses really isn't worth it to me!

I didn't initially buy VM because there were so few reviews. After one month of trying everything to get Parallels to work properly, I scrapped it, and bought VM Fusion 2.0. Within two minutes of installation I knew I made the right choice. Everything works perfectly, and FAST. Don't make the mistake I made, buy this first, at $79.99 it is a steal!

This is a very impressive bit of software.
I actually received version 1.1.2 along with the order of a newly purchased Mac Mini…Read more. Upon installing I was then directed to a free upgrade to v2.0. Downloaded and installed it, and then was treated to the unexpected delight of being able to import an existing W2K virtual machine from Virtual PC 7 off of the G5 tower I am banishing to the basement for the crime of excessive fan noise.
Not only does the imported W2K system work flawlessly, but it also runs much faster than it did before because VMWare allows one to allocate 1GB memory to the virtual machine (vs only 512M allowed by VPC7). From start to finish the whole process took less than an hour, and I was spared the irritation of a miserable afternoon building and configuring a new Windows installation. Hats-off to the engineers at VMWare for a job well done!(182 of 203 people found this review useful)

It works fabulously, and the unity feature is excellent. Also, there is a way how to make it so the desktop on Windows or whatever other OIS you use matches the one on your Mac.
I highly recommend it.(179 of 202 people found this review useful)
