Overview
The Apple Keyboard has been completely redesigned, inside and out. It features an elegant, ultra-thin anodized aluminum enclosure with low-profile keys that provide crisp, responsive feel. It also has function keys for one-touch access to a variety of Mac features such as screen brightness, volume, eject, play/pause, fast-forward and rewind, Exposé, and Dashboard. Its extended layout includes document navigation controls and a numeric keypad. And two USB 2.0 ports enable you to easily connect your Mighty Mouse as well as a high-speed peripheral such as a digital camera or printer.*
*Devices that draw high power from the USB connection, such as iPod, hard drives and some flash drives, can only be used with the new keyboard when it is attached to the aluminum iMac.

I liked the old keyboard, but my Tab key wasn't working well, so buying this new keyboard for $49 was cheaper than fixing the old …Read moreone. I use it with OS 10.4.11, so some of the F Keys don't work as they would if I had the newer Operating System (10.5). My greatest disappointment was that the control-F2 key combination no longer worked as it had on the older keyboard (that F Key combination allows control of the menus from the keyboard). I discovered that if I press the "fn" key (next to the "Home" key), & then press "control-F2," the key combination works just as it used to. This might work for other F Keys as well, I haven't tried it. Other than that, I love the positive feel & short stroke of the new keys, & the extra 3 (19 instead of 16) F keys, & the small symbols on some of the keys (particularly on F3 & F4). Many of the F Keys are pre-programmed by Apple, but 9 of them are not, so you can program those keys yourself if you wish to. Overall, a great buy for a very well-made keyboard.

The new style of the keys is intimidating at first but proves to be an easy adjustment once you begin to use it.
I love that it's light weight and portable and believe that was the idea in the design. This, to me, explains the lack of a 10 key.

Hooked up the new keyboard today and its is a real site to behold. Very thin and lite weight. The new key design has a great fee…Read morel and very large keys so you don't make many mistakes.
THE ONE PROBLEM I HAVE WITH IT IS the two usb ports will not support an ipod. I have the video Ipod and I get a warning that the USB power is too low to power the attached device. I bought this key board to clear away clutter on my desk and hopefully eliminate a few cords. Unfortunately its not true and I was disappointed. This little baby uses Function keys for audio up and down and brightness, and Vista really didn't like it. Sadly, I'm going to have to keep using my old keyboard until they update BootCamp to work with this new keyboard. That's why I'm only giving three stars. Otherwise, it'd be a full FIVE, baby!
