Great Keyboard

The keyboard it self is realy realy small and also realy thin. Its personally the Wireless keyboard with a wire. So why would you …Read morebuy a wireless keyboard with dying batteries and bad RF Interfence for 20$ more?
If you're not a Numlock user you should buy the small one. But If you often use the numlock keys it will start to be an annoying keyboard and probably a stupid keyboard. You probably want to use your old one again! I personally think its not necessary you use the numlock. You have got number keys on the top of the keyboard and when you learn to work with the FN-Key it will all be fine.
I will buy the small one because its green, compact and it typs nice. Great work Apple. Was this useful?

Those who dis this board don't get it.

I have CTS from touchtyping and I find the shallower keys of the new keyboards more ergonomic than standard keys. It did take a wh…Read moreile to get used to, but now type faster on these than I do on standard keyboards.
I have the full-sized one too, but since I'm not a number cruncher, I seldom use the keypad. I don't need the home, end, page up or page dn keys because I've learned the fn-key equivalents on the small keyboard. Besides taking up less desk space, the main advantage of the smaller keyboard (and this is a BIG one for me) is that it's a much shorter distance between the keyboard and the mouse, so now I hardly have to lift my arm at all to move the mouse, and thereby minimize stress on my shoulder.
I might have subtracted a star for the low-powered USB, but since I have a ton of peripherals, I need a hub anyway.(4 of 5 people found this review useful)

Missing the Point
Written by MR from Silver Spring

I think some of the reviews here are really missing the point, particularly as an accessory purchase.
It doesn't make sense to c…Read moreriticize it for not having a keypad when they make a similar keyboard WITH a keypad. Nor does it make sense to criticize it for being wired when they make a similar keyboard WITHOUT the wire.
The reason I purchased one is because it has the IDENTICAL key layout as a MacBook or MacBook Pro. If you are a touch typist, switching between different keyboard layouts can be very challenging. I like to have one layout and train my hands and brain to use it effectively. Now I can plug my MacBook into my external monitor and keyboard at home and type just the same as when I am working directly on the MacBook.
Thanks Apple!(153 of 170 people found this review useful)

That makes perfect sense: most of us aren't accountants or using software needing all those keys. If you do, get the big keyboard. If not, get the compact one.
A wired keyboard avoids the problems of the wireless guys: RF interference, batteries dying, etc. It's also a bit greener. The kbd with keypad did not fit in my backpack; this new one will.
Good call, Apple. And it should be a buck or two cheaper to make. Win/win for everyone.

Yeah, i know i know this is basically the wireless keyboard with a tail, but it does have its advantages. People say that this ke…Read moreyboard is small and cramped, well I got news for you people: You have to type ergonomically. If you type with a keyboard on your lap, avid this product. If you type with your elbows rested on the chair arms, don't get this. But if you use a computer like you are suppose you-- wrists/palms on table edge and elbows handing freely, this size is perfect.
Also, if you have the full size apple keyboard then you will adjust to this smaller size easily since the keys are basically the same size. this thing is just missing the keypad part which not every one needs. You can get the full size if you need it and it is at no extra cost(141 of 182 people found this review useful)
