Completely unshielded so if you have a cell phone and it gets within 20 feet of your speakers you get the most annoying series of …Read morebeeps and burps. Also, the headphones jack sounds completely different from plugging into the headphone jack of the computer (even completely different from plugging into the speakers jack). It sounds like listening to music with cotton balls in your ears. Why put a jack there at all if it is going to sound terrible.
The actual output of the speaker (if your cell phone is far away), is a little bass heavy, but otherwise acceptable.(23 of 45 people found this review useful)

I just bought them around 2 weeks ago, and the sound quality is amazing. …Read moreThe bass is really nice and deep, the mids are very nice, and it has crisp treble. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that I can't crank the volume up on these. They have amazing sounds, but to get a loud volume that some people would like for listening to music, it wouldn't be loud enough. I would still say five stars though, because no-one really needs to crank it up extremely loud, and it does go fairly loudly at three quarters max volume. Definitely worth the $100.

The fact that their design perfectly complement my Power Mac G5 and Cinema Display HD is icing on the cake. They feel solid and sturdy, too, and I appreciate a physical volume knob and easily accessible headphone jack.

The range this set is capable of can only be described as total. Adjusting the equalizer for each type of music brings out every m…Read moreusical and voice nuance and the bass has a felt presence that rivals the more expensive Bose systems. I am hearing things I never heard before from the music stored on my computer. Cranking it all the way up is far too much sound for my 24x30 painting studio and office. Even when it's too loud, I carefully listened for distortion. Still very clear all the way through the full sonic range.
The speakers work very well for music from the 50s, the 60s, up til present, from Classical to the Killers. Again, adjusting the Equalizer brings it all out.(720 of 1000 people found this review useful)
