I bought this external hard drive at the same time I bought my mac book....back in early September a couple months ago. I'm a coll…Read moreege student and figured it would be a good idea to back up all my pictures and movies and music, and school work etc. But it took me a while to get all settled in and get everything working so i've only used it to back up my system about 3 times. However, I just now plugged it in permanently and put it on my desk and set all the time-machine settings to back it up regularly and the thing won't work. it takes forever "preparing to back up" and then once it actually starts it goes for about 5 mins and then gives me an error message saying it couldn't do it and the last back up failed. I've tried about 4 times now. rebooted both machines. nothing works. can i return it do you think?
