Overview
The Stylus Photo RX680 gives you perfect photos automatically thanks to its Auto Photo Correction* and advanced face detection. It also lets you preview corrections on the built-in LCD display before you print--as well as crop, rotate, and enlarge your favorite photos. Then, print 4 x 6 photos in as fast as 11 seconds or documents up to 40 ppm.** For even greater productivity, use the built-in auto duplexer to easily produce double-sided prints whenever you want them.

Working with Airport Express

Nice printer. Large footprint. Color quality output is excellent. Fairly quiet printing. Had some trouble getting it to print wire…Read morelessly from a Macbook Pro via USB connected to an Airport Express. Called Epson support: their only fix was to update the driver. Talked to Apple: said it sounded like a printer driver issue (tell me something I don't know). Nothing worked. Ended up getting it to print by using the RX640 Gutenprint v5.1.3 driver, which was already in my driver list. Not absolutely sure I retained all the functionality, but it looks pretty close - and it now prints just fine from OS X wirelessly. Funny thing is, on the Windows side (via Parallels), I used the RX680 driver to install and it worked there wirelessly from the beginning (usually it's the Windows side that gives me trouble, not the Mac...weird). Printer itself would've gotten 5 stars if not for the tedious issue with the Mac driver.

The scanner is very quiet and the quality of scans are top notch. I also really like the automatic 2-sided printing especially when I am printing out an electronic manual of a new program. My wife likes the fact that there are 2 paper trays, so we can keep regular paper in the front tray and 4x6 photos in the rear paper tray.

If you plan to use with Airport Extreme ...

First, know that I am:
1. Using all Mac computers
2. Have …Read morethe printer plugged in to an Airport Extreme Base Station via USB
3. Using the latest version of Mac OS X (Leopard 10.5.2)
4. Using the latest version of the Epson software for this printer (downloaded from epson.com)
What happened:
The printer hooked up via USB (the USB cable is NOT included in the box). The printer would only print if DIRECTLY connected to the computer. It would NOT print wirelessly via the Airport Extreme Base Station.
What I did:
I called Epson. They told me there was a known issue with this printer, and using it with the Airport Extreme Base Station. They gave me a website to download an additional plug-in, and it worked.
Overall:
It is a hassle, but until Epson comes up with additional software drivers, you will need to call them and get the link. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars for this hassle. Otherwise, colors are great, and it works on the network very well.(90 of 109 people found this review useful)

Software did not work well with leopard. almost like 90% of it downloaded. Also can't get it to work through my airport express, which appears to be a common problem. trying to resolve that now, which i'm sure is possible. No easy way to completely uninstall the program to attempt a new re-install. the uninstall option doesn't take all loaded epson programs off your mac.
print quality however, is excellent. I just wish the software with smoother.
I'm a recent mac convert and so far the only thing I really miss is the Dell printer software interface which was easy and neat; and didn't clog up to apps menus with multiple icons....I wish apple would come out with printers to work as flawlessly as their other equipment. Or at least consult of software for these third party printers.
Again the printer is of hiqh quality, but unfortunately the software is outdated and fells "thrown together", almost the had different people designing programs for scanning, printing and copying..and then just included them on the CD.(50 of 61 people found this review useful)
