I was totally blown away by the quality of print from what I thought was a relatively inexpensive photo printer which allowed me tRead moreo print on the largest size of photo paper. And the price has even come down from when I purchased mine! Even though all ink jet printers nab you by the cartridges you have to purchase, I get a lot of prints for my money.

Best Photo Printer I've Ever Used

I particularly like to print photos on museum etRead moreching paper, a heavy matte paper, thirteen inches by nineteen inches. The paper and the depth of the images make photos look more like paintings than photographs. Regarding ink....if I'm going to spend a hundred bucks for twenty sheets of fine paper, I don't mind spending eighteen bucks a cartridge...but then again, at the larger size that I like to print at, you don't get many prints. At least I don't feel taken by the manufacturers ink prices like I do by their main competitor.

Great Print Quality, One of the best print heads for the price

This printer has one of the finest print heads - Epson basically put a very high-end print head in this printer and crippled it wiRead moreth small consumer ink tanks. The print quality is great - I printed out some 8.5x11 photos on glossy paper and they looked amazing - then I realized that I had print quality on 'fastest' instead of 'high quality!' You will really want good paper to take advantage of the great ink and fine droplet size of this printer. With regards to the small, expensive ink - I won't mention any names, but there are some great 3rd party CIS solutions and other solutions that make it affordable to print. Of course, I wouldn't know about that since I only use Epson genuine ink ;)
