Overview

Samson's G-Track is the world's first USB condenser microphone with a built-in audio interface and mixer, allowing simultaneous input of vocals and guitar, bass, or keyboard while also providing monitoring through an on board headphone output. The G-Track allows you to record vocals like a standard USB mic, or two mono instruments through the line/instrument input, or a mix of one mono instrument and vocal. Now singer/songwriters can directly record vocals and instruments quickly and easily with one device, making the G-Track a must have for any songwriter's home studio. And its ease of use and portability allows you to take it anywhere inspiration may strike you.

Picked this up today. Its either the most unuser friendly item I have ever bought or it just doesn't receive input. I have been Read moretrying to contact Samson technical support but to no avail. Lights come on laptop recognizes output but no input. I would not recommend this product.

    Crisp

I ordered this on a thursday and it was shipped to my house by the Tuesday of the following week. For the microphone, it is very cRead morelear and crisp for vocals. People have been complaining about it being "very noisy" with garageband, however, you just have to unplug it and plug it in again. I had it go fuzzy half way through recording a couple times but its rare for it to do that, just try not running several programs at the same time as garageband/recording. Its really quite the evolution for a USB mic. I'm very impressed overall.

Worked seamlessly with skype and garageband. Have to turn it up quite a bit. But, I was very impressed that its suppressed the bacRead morekground noise superbly. I had a very loud fan going in the background and no line noise or anything. Great for all you podcasters. We will be using it in ours.

A great mic. The other reviewer is mis-informed

Great unit. Great price. Gret compatibility. Works in all softwares, and has terrific sound and control.

The other reviewer cleRead morearly has no idea what he is talking about. Cakewalk Sonar LE is NOT SUPPORTED by OSX, which is why it is not included in the package from Apple (apple.com needs to change their product page on this mic, that is an official word from Samson).

Also the mic clip DOES attatch to the stand if the user removes the Euro Mic Adapter from the inside of the mic clip (which Samson is nice enough to include for all users, not just the US). All he needed to do that was a US quarter or a flat-head screwdriver. But I guess that's above his head to try.

All in all, this is the best Songwriting tool a singer/mac user has ever had.

The new Samson G Track works seamlessly with my inspiration. It is easy to use, and provides more bang for the buck than any othRead moreer comparable product out there. The ability to control headphone volume and another instrument right form the mic capsule, makes for no time lost in the creative process. Best thing to come down the pike in years for on the fly laptop recording!
