I have my iPhone connected via AUX in my car and I have yet to experience any kind of interference. I make calls, text, GPS, I use all the features while charging and it works fine. If you just want a simple charger that's 3G compatible purchase this one. The detachable USB cord is handy just in case you need one away from home. The black sleek color matches my black iPhone 3G too.

Also like the detachable cord Idea. I use this cord indoors with my wall adapter too. A real great deal for 20.00. I haven't found anything better for the price. I you just need to charge, it'll do;; if you want to listen to music and charge, then don't buy.

At first when you read the product label and its conta…Read moreiner, it doesn't show iPhone 3G is compatible with the product BUT it's working like a charm for iPhone 3G. The led ring light indicates if your iPhone is fully charged or not (red for charging and green for fully charged). You can buy an extra Apple USB Power Adapter to charge outside the car in case if you forgot yours somewhere - just use the cable included in this car charger. Awesome way to recharge your phone while you're on the go!
