The second the phone hit the floor, the case popped right open leaving my new phone completely unprotected, sliding across the floor. I think my heart skipped a beat. This case looks good on the phone but is horrible when it comes to functionality.

How many times do you have to take the Shield off to do things with your iPhone? Quite often. And what happens when you take it off? You slide this super-snug fitting bit of plastic right over your entire iPhone's surface, dragging every bit of dirt that has crept into the crevices during use, & there is a lot of it which gets trapped in their, trust me, right across that oh-so soft and scratchable polycarb... Do it, & listen closely, you can hear these bits of dirt crunching & scratching away on your beautiful new iPhone, I am not joking!
So is it supposed to protect more against droppage? You figure it out, a quarter-millimeter thickness of hard plastic with no give in it, one iPhone dropped on the floor. There is no miracle formula here. Compare this to a couple of mills of bouncy silicone in other case types...
My experience of 3 iPhones in our household? The one with the EcoShield (for the record, the one least often taken outside) is now covered in scratches, the one with no cover has a few, and the one with a silicon cover has none. What were we buying this bit of plastic for again?? And how much are we asked to pay for it??(5 of 7 people found this review useful)

However, the purpose of the case is to protect the phone. I've dropped my phone twice now onto tiled floors--once from a height of about 4 feet, once from less than 2 feet--and both times the case cracked open immediately on impact and the precious ended up on the floor.
A friend bought a Contour HardSkin case; she dropped hers in the street today and the case got scratched, but stayed intact and her phone was fine. I'll be buying one of those next!(3 of 3 people found this review useful)

I have 4 Agent18 cases total (between old iPods and now the iPhone), as they produce an amazing product. Every one of thier cases …Read moreprevented damage from drops or scratches from keys. This case is no different. The shade and shine of the case matches perfectly with the iPhone's natural color, and the little grips on the side help you hold onto the phone easily. The case is so thin that most people don't even realize you have one on. People were asking if I was going to buy a case or not, until I showed them that it already had a case on it. All of the ports are easy to access, and all corners are well protected. I would highly recommend this product, or any other agent18 case.

I had the previous generation EcoShield for my original iPhone, and I thought it was the best out there for something slim and fai…Read morerly sturdy that could easily glide into my pocket. Only problem was when tiny dust particles from pocket lint got in the case which scratched the back and sides of the iPhone. This revised case solves that dust issue with the improved way of connecting the two pieces. My only complaint is the actual material of the case: while it is light yet solid, the glossy case itself soon gets scratched and will get scuffed up in less than a week. But I'd rather that than my iPhone. May also try the Griffin Elan Form as another option...
