This case could have been better if Griffin had spent some more time developing the case. Hands down this is the best looking case…Read more I came across for the IPhone, the leather feels good in the palm of your hands, and the best thing is that it doesn't feel like a phone case, but the bad is that the leather peals. STAY AWAY UNTIL Griffin improve the case material.

Leather peels off after a while

I thought I had found the perfect case. But after 6 months in and out of my pocket, the leather has started peeling off the plastic. I have tried re-gluing it without success and need to find a new perfect case. Contrary to some other reviews, I did find dust and dirt under the cover regularly which definitely marked up the back of the phone a bit. My sense is that you will be hard-pressed to find a case that prevents this though.

Good while the glue lasts...

The good: I love the feel of this case! Grippy without being sticky like silicone. I have never had a problem with the case comin…Read moreg loose or the bottom falling off. It has taken a good amount of abuse and has physically stood up well.
The bad: After about 2 months the glue that holds the leather backing onto the plastic began to soften up a bit, especially around the corner next to the volume controls. Since then it has also started receding from around the bottom hole where the dock adapter is. It's now about 4 months old and it's a daily chore to straighten and stretch the shifting leather back into place. They should've used an epoxy instead of an automotive trim style adhesive.
And like so many cases, it doesn't come with a dock adapter. C'mon, Apple designed the dock to allow for custom adapters!(2 of 2 people found this review useful)

So I got my new iphone and all that jazz. Came to the realization I needed a case to keep this nice. Well Apple Store isn't close…Read more so I went up to Best Buy and this was one of the only cases they had. I opened it up and tested it in the store. First thought, wow. First off all this looks slick on the black iphone, slick. A high class leather look but with the feel of a hard case. And the leather adds a good grip to it. And unlike those cheap rubber cases this thing fits very snug, no dust is getting in. The only thing is it comes with some plastic screen shield, dont use this. Just go find a nice stick on screen protector. Best case I've ever picked up for any product even from my experiences with iPod and phone cases.

Saw this case at the Apple Store and there was only one left. Now I'm really glad I bought it. I wanted something to protect the i…Read morePhone. Cases are cheap and easy to replace if they get scratched or dinged. Phones, not so easy or cheap to replace.
This Elan case is one of the slimmest cases available, and doesn't add too much bulk to the phone like some of the other chunkier plastic cases. The leather back (is it real leather? don't know...) gives a good grip to the phone, but still allows the phone to easily slide into a pants or jacket pocket. The case is a tight fit, especially the top portion, which barely slides over the silencer switch. But once on, it feels snug and fits perfectly. I like that the smaller bottom piece slides off to allow docking of the phone. But the bottom never feels like it would accidentally slide off without me pulling on it intentionally.
As JB mentioned, don't bother with the extra plastic shield provided with this case for the front of the phone. I opted for Power Support's anti-glare film which is thinner and reduces the shine and finger printing of the glass (or the alternative Power Support "crystal" covers)(88 of 95 people found this review useful)

The Elan Form is a nice case if you do not need a belt clip of any kind and plan on carrying your iPhone 3G in your pocket or bag.…Read more The case provides a tight fit around the phone and the chrome bezel is also protected. You are able to remove the bottom easily to place in a dock which is a nice feature. Griffin also include a screen guard that is held in place by the edges of the case. Overall, I'm very impressed by the case!
