Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe for iPhone and iPod
A Great Car solution for the Iphone and Iphone 3G
Written by LS from Las vegas

This dock solution works great with my Mini Cooper. It holds the iphone 3g perfectly and no more of those incompatible device warnings. I was using the tune flex for the longest time and this dock not only keeps the iphone secure, but you can rotate the dock to see video in horizontal mode.. The Remote that comes with this is amazing. The only downside I can see is it doesn't have much of a flex so, placement may be a problem for some people depending on where your cigarette adapter is?

Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe for iPhone and iPod
Great product! Exactly what I have been looking for!!!!

I have been waiting for a cradle that used the accessory outlet to charge and hold the iphone for a long time. This product was perfect for me as a cradle/charger, and also adds the aux output cable and wireless remote.
I combined this with a bluetooth speaker phone (or a headset would work) and am very happy with the functionality I'm getting.
My iphone fits on the cradles and charges even with the case still on, and has re-sizeable arms to keep everything in place. The neck is strong enough to hold up the iphone without too much bouncing around and is fairly flexible. It rotates easily so the cover flow view is easy to switch to (which is very cool to use cover flow with the remote). The aux cord is pretty short, but there is an extension cord included. Also the distance the arm puts from the stereo is enough to almost eliminate the buzzing sounds (this will vary from car to car). Other cradles I tried couldn't do this because they attached to the windshield or dash and were too close to the stereo.
If a call comes in, the music fades out and I can activate my bluetooth speaker, take the call and when I hang up the music starts up again where I left off.
Simple, no installation necessary, and covers all the functions I was looking for. After trying 4-5 different cradles, FM transmitters, messing with lots of wires, suction cups, clips, and several near accidents, it is really nice to have a simple little system that covers all the bases without the hassle and constant fumbling.
The only issue I really had was that my cigarette lighter is horizontal as opposed to vertical which the design is aimed at), so finding a good position was a little tricky, but I managed find a very comfortable and viewable location after a little twisting and bending...
(If you don't have a aux input or a cassette player in your car this won't be as effective, but it is still a good charger/cradle).(71 of 79 people found this review useful)

Great Idea, Poorly Executed
Written by JI from Berryville

I've been looking and waiting for a full aux-port cradle solution for years, and I couldn't wait to purchase this. Unfortunately, my overall impression is "meh."
The system works as advertised. That said, the build quality is flimsy at best -- the remote literally fell apart (into pieces that shouldn't have come off) while I removed the battery cover to install the battery, only one of the extending arms actually extends properly (the other hangs and has to be yanked out), and the flexible post is too short for its stiffness, so bending it to a usable angle causes it to flex the base so hard that I worry about it snapping. Also, forget using this in a recessed power jack; it needs one fairly flush (and unobstructed) with the dash because of the too-short flex-arm. I really wanted to like this, and it's just been a big disappointment in quality for $100.00.(57 of 68 people found this review useful)

Poor Quality; few other options

Great looks but it stops there. Cheaply made, very flimsy. I put this in a brand new luxury vehicle and have high pitched engine noise through speakers when listening to i-phone at low volumes. Flex rod barely holds weight of iphone. No other options I've seen on market, but will switch when one becomes available.

Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe for iPhone and iPod
Totally convenient, totally worth $99

I normally "pass" on writing reviews, but after buying this product despite the several negative readings I encountered on this site, I am compelled to share. This product is meeting or exceeding almost all of my needs and expectations. It's slick and clean, unobtrusive, and looks professional. It sounds greatmuch better than an FM transmitterand quickly accommodates not only my 3G, but my old 1st Gen iPhone, iPod video, and the 2 different nanos my family uses. Someone complained of engine noise (it's from a noisy alternator), but this noise is not a byproduct of this offeringa user will need install a filter between his alternator and his 12-volt receptacle to solve this problem with any product. Addressing another complaint: the remote is supposed to come apart into pieces for the battery installread the instructions before you rant, please. I am oh-so-pleased with this product. My phone is out of my pocket and into the stand in a second. Another second later an dmy thumb has hit play on the steering wheel. Totally convenient, totally worth $99. The only way to make it better is to turn my airbag into a touch screen click wheel.

Disappointed

In the description, this is exactly what I wanted. It seemed like a great product. However, when I set it up in my car, I was immediately disappointed. There is a loud buzzing sound getting picked up from the car's engine. The faster I go, the worse it is. I couldn't listen to it for more than a few minutes. When the car is turned off, it sounded great. I returned it and am looking for another product.

Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe for iPhone and iPod
Best solution yet for my 3G iPhone
Written by OF from PATERSON

Just received my LiquidAUX today, hooked it up in my car and it worked flawlessly! Had to use the extra side pads and extend the back panel forward to hold my iPhone 3G snugly in place, but it didn't move at all during the bumpy commute. Sound quality is perfect, and I had already raised the volume specifically for my AUX input through the audio settings in my BMW. Phone did not complain about incompatibility and airplane mode. Remote works very nicely and fit snugly over my steering wheel. The only issue was that the remote's shuffle button did not do anything on my phone. For those complaining about whine and noise, Kensington has a solution:
When using an auxiliary device in the car, you might hear a slight buzzing sound, engine noise, or high-pitched whine. That is because your car model has a grounding issue between the audio system and the power socket, which causes a whining or buzzing sound when you drive. This sound is not caused by your Kensington product; however, Kensington has an easy solution. Simply purchase an automotive ground loop isolator for your car that is compatible with a 3.5-mm jack. This simple tool will enable you to use your music in a safe, hands-free environment.(11 of 14 people found this review useful)

engine noise
Written by SR from Ware

I have a 2008 Chevy Silverado truck and the engine noise while using the AUX port was sometimes louder than the music. The design of this product is great, the AUX cable was the perfect length from the base to the input port and the holder held my IPod securely making it easy to reach and switch songs etc. Engine noise during exceleration and deceleration was terrible and there was an annoying hum all of the time. I originally bought the Kensington LiquidAUX and had the same problem and then tried the Delux model --- No more Kensingtons for me.

Perfect for the iPhone 3G!

I'm with ER, this is exactly the product I'd been waiting for with my original iPhone. The fact that it works great with my new 3G iPhone is a huge plus.
In my vehicle, the cradle puts the iPhone just where I need it to be for use while driving. It's visible when using maps, checking caller I.D., and selecting tracks in iTunes. The neck allows you to position it perfectly, and it'll even rotate horizontally for video or web usage.
The charger works as you'd expect, and the direct line out gives you much better audio then if you simply plugged into the headset port. If you've got an aux jack in your car, you'll find no better solution. Both the cradle and remote work very well. This is truly a 5 star product.(12 of 16 people found this review useful)

Kensington LiquidAUX Deluxe for iPhone and iPod
Very poor quality
Written by DC from Santa Barbara

Very poor quality on all fronts. I still get the "not compatible switch to Airplane Mode" message with my 3g iPhone from time to time. I have the most recent updates on my iPhone as of 10/08. I have to un-dock and re-dock it quite often to get the audio to work. The grasping mechanism only works correctly 75% of the time. Will not grasp or release the iPhone at all if you plan on positioning the iPod/Phone to the left or right of the Aux Port. The included remote only works on occasion. Swivel mechanism on the back of this is very large and as a result the iPhone sticks out pretty far out from the dashboard (there isn't a profile
I read the mixed reviews and bought this anyway because there doesn't seem to be anything comparable out there. I would wait until something better comes out.(7 of 7 people found this review useful)
