    Waste of Money

    Written by NS from Vancouver

I did read the reviews and complains of statics in big cities with lots of FM radio broadcasts but I live in a small town and travel to another small town on the highway with only 2 FM radio stations and I still had TONS and I do mean TONS of statics.
    In general waste of money.

    Garbage

This product is useless for all intents and purposes. I can't even believe that it's in stock at Apple stores.

With mine, I can barely hear the music through the static- and even then a radio station will still emerge in and out- no matter where I put it on the dial.

I'm going to attempt to return mine. Absolute garbage.

    Not worth it.

This was the only adapter that was usable with the iPhone, so I bought it. The static is awful and it gives you radio stations that don't exist. I would not recommend buying this product! The only good thing about this is that it also charges your iPhone or iPod.

    Works better than the Monster

Written by RA from San Diego

I bought this because it was the only one that worked for the iPhone officially. I've noticed in the past years while trying out different FM transmitters, that certain brand of transmitters work with certain types of cars. This one worked the best for my Mazda Van with a Sony stereo deck. It works well driving around locally and when I have to drive out of city, I just have to change the station twice when traveling from San Diego past LA to Ventura County. I am satisfied with the performance of this transmitter but can only give it 4 stars because the quality of the sound isn't the greatest but it works!

    Rip-off

Plenty of static heard. The "ClearScan" technology appears to be flawed since the device recommends frequencies that are clearly already active. Not sure if I can also say that I've seen this same exact item at much lower prices at other non-Apple retailers.

    Terrible sound quality

Not enough transmit power - I can't get a clear signal out of this adapter unless I hold the wire up next to my radio antenna. And I tried it on many frequencies, in Toronto, and backwoods Australia, on two different car radios. So, it's useless as a radio adapter, it's just an $80 Iphone charger. Which is really disappointing, because my old Monster FM Ipod transmitter worked perfectly with my Ipod, but would not charge my Iphone as Apple decided to change the power pinout.

    Not worth it

The only reason why i gave this product 2 stars is because it charges my phone. In the beginning it was decent enough, but soon i began to realize what a hassle it was. While driving i had to keep on changing the radio station since it started to go in and out of reception, which is obviously distracting and not to mention dangerous. I realized i get so caught up in trying to find a clear station that i tend to lose concentration on the road. This product is definitely not worth $79.99, but that's just my opinion.

    Not Bad

I have actually tried and returned several FM transmitters and this has been the best out of the bunch. The scan works about 65% of the time and the 3 setting PRO feature can make a big difference in sound quality. The RDS is kind of cool but sort of pointless if you mount your iphone in front of you anyway. Again, nothing spectacular but better than the other ones I've tried.

    Not so good

I was initially impressed. But after using this product, it is very poor. The ability to find a good station is poor and then static continues to exist. Also, when plugged into the 3g, it says something along the lines of this product is not compatible with the iPhone. I don't get it. Anyhow, I'm disappointed. I should have looked at the reviews here before.
