Hi,i have tried all headphones in stores like apple, hmv, currys etc... Before i bought "BEATS BY DRE, MONSTER" headphones i tried "BOSE" and all other big brands headphones they had. These headphones are simply the best. WHY? QUALITY SOUND, BEST AND CLEAN BASE AND ALL OTHER SOUND FEATURES IT HAS. SOME OF THE SONGS THAT I DONT LIKE TO HAVE IN MY IPOD ALSO SOUND GREAT BECAUSE OF THE QUALITY. I ALMOST USE LONDON UNDERROUND SERVICE AND BUSES EVERY DAY AND I CANNOT HEAR ANY THING WHEN I HAVE THESE HEADPHONES ON.NOISE CANCELLING FEATURE WORKS PERFECT. ALSO COMFORTABLE AND SOFT ON EARS AND THE SIZE MAY LOOK BIG BUT THEY REALLY LIGHT WEIGHT. THESE HEADPHONES CAME OUT QUIET A WHILE AGO AND NOW THEY ARE REALLY POPULAR ON TV ASWELL, SHOWED IN ALOT OF POP MUSIC AND HIP HOP. GO FOR THESE OR IF U BUY ANYTHING ELSE THAN U WIL MAKE BIG MISTAKE. I ALSO SHOW OFF IN MY COLLEGE AND PEOPLE ALSO SPOT THESE ON ME, SAYIN " I SAW THESE IN THAT VIDEO SONG OF TheGame, Lady GAGA just dance and many more..............

Hold up Dreeeaayyy!

Firstly I have to say the sound from these audio bombs is absolutely incredible, if you love 808's this is your Nirvana!
I've read a few negative reviews and i'm baffled as to why, if it took you 10 tests to decide if these headphones are worthwhile, me thinks something my be wrong with you!
True if your using them with your ipod or iphone you must tweak the settings to get the best from them, I'd limited my useage to my iphone, but I used them with our B&O system and the sound is incredible. Sound is important in my line of work, I have Bose, Sennheiser, Sony and B&O headphones and these are the very best only the Bose come close.
The only negative thing I have to say is the build quality, I had to return the first pair, they were defective and the build quality seemed much poorer than the pair I had them replaced with (i'm not sure why that would be), thats the only reason i'm unable to give these headbangers 5 stars.
They are expensive, but if your able to stretch your budget that little bit further, believe me you wont be disappointed.(19 of 19 people found this review useful)

Quality product!!

Excellent product in my opinion, I have bought BOSE headphones in the past and they don't compare to Beats. Especially good for Hip-Hop/Rap/R&B type music but just as good for Rock and Dance. If you buy music of a high sound quality you will experience a new level of sound definition with these.
There is no doubt they are very pricey but overall I feel they were a good purchase. I'm trying to get my hands on the new In-ear headphones by Dr. Dre now but apparently they are only available in America currently. They are much more favourably priced at $150 but hopefully the lower price doesn't effect the sound quality.(12 of 13 people found this review useful)

I was not able to try The Monster Beats before i purchased them as they were not on show at the Apple Store in Regent Street, London.
I was advised that there is a 14 day return policy if I didn't like them. All I can say is that I purchased them today and will be returning them 13 days early!!
I have used Grado & Shure headphones in the past and these Monster Beats only compare with my 100 pound Shure's.
In fact the Shure's are probably better at shutting out ambient noise.
The Beats are supposed to be noise cancelling , but I could still hear the TV in the next room and my family talking in the same room around me. Also a very off putting puslating wave in my ear which I suppose is the noise cancellation which doesn't work very well and to be honest is quite nauseating.
They may seem good when upgrading from a cheap pair of headphones, but I was extremely dissapointed with them.
They may be expensive, but regardless of the cost the sound quality is no more than average.

Can't see what the fuss is about.

I expect great things from a £275 pair of headphones. I've tried them about 10 times in different stores, with different music types now, and I absolutely cannot understand why they're so highly rated, or priced.
Let's be clear - Monster is a consumer audio company, but these have a pro pricetag. Dre is a hip hop producer, not a headphone designer. Both these facts show.
The sound is very, very compressed sounding - lots of bass, a hissy top-end, and the mid is almost non-existent, to the point that the music loses all its power and punch.
Lots (about two in every three) of the copies of these in the Apple stores I've visited have been broken as well - I know they get rough treatment, but I'd be very nervous spending this much on headphones that appear to generate problems with this frequency.
I have a pair of Shure SE530s, which kick the Beats out of town. Less bass, but better focused, and much clearer representation and separation. I have owned Etymotics, Sonys, Sennheisers, Audio-Technica, Grado, you name it. I'm a sucker for headphones. These would be okay at less than a quarter of the price - for what they are, they're seriously disappointing.(74 of 113 people found this review useful)

i went into the apple store in the trafford centre and wanted to get a new pair of headphones and decided to take look at the Beats and also the bose noise reduction headphones and in a very busy, noisy shop it was perfect to test them in and tried both pairs on the bose pair cept falling off my head and you could still here the people in the background i then put the Beats on and even when there was no music playing i could here nothing in the background and then we started to play the music and the sound was amasing i spent £274-00 and i am glad i bought the BEATS by Dr. Dre

great piece of kit
Written by KS from Amsterdam

I bought these after a comparison in the shop against the closest bose/jvc/sony equivalents.
These won absolutely hands down after playing a variety of songs through them from funk, soul and jazz to the new Metallica stuff and some classics from Muse. What I got was crisp clear tones on the vocals, phenomenal clarity on the bass that doesn't distort or muffle the song like other cans do and they are also extremely comfortable.
I actually flew back to Amsterdam the day after I bought them and as soon as you flick the switch to turn them on, the engine noise disappears. Absolute bliss.
I've also used them to test a piece of kit that allows you to play a guitar through your headphones and these are the only cans that make it a pleasure to do so.
Heavily recommend these for the true music enthusiast, just advise you to buy rechargeable batteries and a charger!(21 of 28 people found this review useful)

After buying these headphones, i realised i enjoy my music so much more now.
Now after using these for a few months i tryed listening on a friends iPod, with regular Apple ear phones and and it was so bad and hurt my ears. Also i must say Beats are so comfortable, i can listen to music for hours now.(12 of 16 people found this review useful)

They grow on you

I was in a serious dilemma - these beauties or the £225 Bose QC3. I went for the Dr Dre in the end & am very happy about it.
My view - If you fly a lot & noise cancellation is a concern - QC3 are better. Dr Dre's noise cancellation is okish for moderate noise like a train (overground) commute.
However if sound quality is your primary concern & you like to hear the richness of the sound - these are absolutely fantastic and beat the Bose hands down (try it on your home music system). The only gripe I have so far is the iphone cable which I find a bit fidly.(24 of 30 people found this review useful)
