Sadly - as many of the other reviewers have pointed out, these don't seem to last.
I already had a pair of these, and they failed within a month after the purchase. Apple salespeople exchanged them for new ones without any problems, but now - after about three months, the new ones seem to be failing too.
The button and the mic are the first to go, and later comes the 'flatness' of the played music.
Will probably get something else next time, probably something cheaper (no point investing if it doesn't last).
Overall great quality sound on both the headset and the mic, if they ever resolve the above problems I will definitely buy another pair.

Fantastic sound and mic function, then after 3 months vocals dropped out the songs and it sounded tinny and ethereal. pulling out the jack half way sorts it, but that's not ideal.

These earphones have obviously not been tested in the great outdoors! - they are ok if you are sat on a train etc but if you try and walk anywhere wearing them then they are completely useless. They transmit all the sounds from the leads as they move against your clothing and you even hear the wind as it blows over them - very distracting and actually they generate more noise than they block out. Also they have no volume control and the left lead is shorter than the right meaning all the weight is on one ear

Save £40 and get a pair of the standard apple ones.

The control button for some reason never seems to last more than 4 months. I had one where, first the button and mic failed within day's of each other. And then the left ear went. Bought another set. After 4 month's the control button and mic went together. And then it complete failed. No more sound. And now my third set's button stopt working yesterday. Sometimes clicking it works, but I can hardly call it responsive. It still has sound so I can use it, but it is very annoying not being able to switch off the music, or pickup the phone with the button.
For the rest it is a good headset with good earplugs and good sound. But they need to do something about the button/mic.
So if you have been saving up to buy a headset to last, don't buy this one!!

Very disappointed in these headphones. The sounds quality is much less than the Apple supplied ones, very 'tinny' sound. Save your money!

Really good sounds, but broke after 3 months at the junction of the jack and cable. Just not made to last. Cannot fault the sound or the inbuilt mic or button. Would get 4 out of 5 if they were made more solidly.

Excellent sound, but they break quickly. I've just lost my third pair, same symptoms as SC from London had - microphone fails, then the iPod sound goes weird. Certainly seems to originate in the lead where it goes into the jack. So, much as I love Sennheiser phones (my earlier iPod ones still work), I'm looking for a different set now. Three sets of phones in less than a year - too expensive a habit...

Got these earphones as a replacement for a pair of Senhheiser CX 300 earphones I had for my iPod Touch. Wanted the ability to answer calls on my iPhone. The earphones were good to start with however the control weighs the headphones down and frequently pulled the left earphone out of my ear. I have only had them 4 months and now the left earphone no longer produces sound. This seems to be a common problem going by other reviews. Really dissapointing after the excellent CX 300's I had. Will revert back to my 300's.
