I just purchased my new LaCie Rugged storage device today.
Prior to that I had an 80GB Rugged
It still worked great and never stalled. Even after I took it apart several times (I do not reccomend)

I need to send large amounts of HD video to clients all over the country. I have a few of these Rugged drives just for this purpose. I send them in the mail, packaged with light padding, but I just know they'll always come out fine on the other end. Last shipment was cross-country to Cannondale Bicycles.

This storage device is the best storage device I have ever used. It works great. It is easy to use. It looks great!! I am about to buy another one for my wife!!!

This Hard Drive is very performant and robust! If you are looking for a small and shock-resistant hard drive get this one! I use it every time I travel and it is probably the most reliable hard disk you can find today! It is also very enjoyable because it is easy to use, stylished and silentful!

This is a great buy for anyone looking for a high capacity (500 gig), durable drive. I have had mine for over a month now and love that I can use it on the go as a reliable back up and to share pictures and large videos with friends and family.

This hard drive is excellent for people on the go and students. The aluminum case is hard to dent and the rubber outside protects his hard drive from damaging. The one set back is the price. But for a student or if you like to take your hard drive with you, this product is worth investing your money in.

I've had La Cie products in the past and they worked fine---this one was used three times in three months and is now officially dysfunctional according to LaCie support. I can send it in for repair---I think I'm just done with LaCie.

My Macbook had a knock and sent my internal hard drive into history, however I wanted to get a drive to get a back up of the my photo's I had sent to friends, 8000 of them of my world travels (Damn). Wow is it fast. It takes minutes to back up GB of data. I replaced my hard drive with a Sata 250 GB in my Mac got it up and working and started to reload. Wow. The drive is fast, both for back up and downloading. good looking. The down side are small 800 FW cable and it runs hot, is that a problem? As someone who travels a lot I would definitely recommend this. Just connect and you are up and running in minutes, it even configures a space for Windows (why would you need this?). I like the Time capsule but as I am on the road so often this is a great product if you want to be able to travel and forget it. I dropped it 3 feet and it still continued backing up. All terrain definitely.
