Bose® SoundDock® Series II digital music system
Ultimate for holidays and picnics
Written by JH from HELSTON

I didn't purchase this through Apple Store but from a high street chain after recommendation from a friend who was their Product Manager. We took it on our honeymoon and were/are very pleased with image, sound quality and battery life. It also comes with a charger with UK and EU converters. As a musician I was more than satisfied with the sound quality given it's portability constraints and outlasted our time by the pool. One criticism is the limited control of the iPod by the Bose remote, but that's livable given all it's other plus points. It went in hold luggage and was perfectly OK at end of each trip. A++++

The saying goes "You pay for what you get" and thats so true in this case, the sound quality is unbelievable ! when we went to out local Apple store at the Trafford Centre we tried and tested several speaker docks that where Iphone 3G and new Ipod Touch compatible to meet me and my partners needs and we always came back to this one !
If you are looking for a unique speaker Dock look no further. =](124 of 129 people found this review useful)

Flawless
Written by NM from EDINBURGH

I just got this product and I can't fault it in any way.
It sounds excellent for the size and price and it works flawlessly with all my iPods and my 3G iPhone. At a little more than half the price of the B&W Zep, it doesn't sound as good but then again, it doesn't look ridiculous! Nicely screwed together too.
Highly recommended.(122 of 130 people found this review useful)

Good, but not £219 good.
Written by MS from Havant

These are good speakers, and come in an impressive looking package, although I'm very sceptical of whether they are are worth the price.
I bought this a month ago and it went back under the Bose 30-day warranty after 2 weeks. There is a distinct lack of mid range, and the bass is not exactly what you'd call punchy.
This product does not compare favourably to similar outfits from Altec Lansing or even Logitech for around £120-£150. Although I'm sure people manage to kid themselves that this is really worth £200+.
If you're going to spend a lot of money on an iPod dock, buy the B&W zeppelin, as it is so much better than this it's unreal.(58 of 66 people found this review useful)

Good sound don't mean good value
Written by PR from Falmouth

I bought the SoundDock to use with my iPhone 3G. Setup is easy, just plug in the mains, dock your iPod/Phone and away you go. Good sound, although there is no facility to fiddle with bass/treble output. The remote unit is absolute pants, poorly constructed and feels cheap - it also gave up after 10 days despite changing the cell, which is another story. Bose customer service has been very disappointing so I'm having to grub around on my knees in the corner of the room to select playlists. Think twice before splashing the cash on this one!

* Easy to use & reliable.
* Powerfull sound.
* Even better if you get the leather bag.
* Logical & straightforward to use.
My Red Nano looks amazing sat in my black Bose sounddock,

You won't regret it

The sound quality, style and ease of use makes this one of the best accessories you could buy for an iPod or iPhone. I did a lot of research before I committed to spending this much but don't regret it for a moment. It is expensive, but you won't feel like you've wasted your money. Enjoy!

Dont expect miracles

Im a sound engineer and there is a phrase that is often used that i will filter down for this review, "Rubbish in, Rubbish out". If you are listening to mp3s through these speakers don't expect them to to sound amazing, people say there is a lack of bass with these speakers, well that is a given with mp3 music. I have listened to these with CD quality music on my ipod and the improvement in quality is very, very noticeable and that is where the speaker quality of Bose is most audible.
I have used Bose equipment for years and they do have a very different sound to other HiFi speakers, its more natural and authentic.
If all you're buying for is to listen to mp3s then you wont get the best out of these speakers and there are probably sound docks that are better gears for this, with more bass built into the speakers but i feel if you can be bothered to store your music at a higher quality then this is definitely worth the money.(21 of 23 people found this review useful)

Bose Series II popping sounds
Written by RC from Hull
04-Feb-2009
I experience loud popping sounds at about 5 minute intervals, when I use my iPhone 3G in the Sound dock. I have tried various different configurations without success. The only solution I have found is that the problem stops only when the iPhone is FULLY charged. I have emailed Bose asking them if they can provide a solution for me, if not I am probably going to have to return it for a refund. Pity really cos it has a real good sound [when you can hear it between popping noises].
Further information on this problem is on many web forums.(16 of 17 people found this review useful)
