The Best Wireless Revolution Yet, TeensTech.bravehost.com

This Product is amazing I had every router out there and this one is the easiest, fastest, most complex router. If your torn between a cheap brand that last a year. I would choose the Airport Extreme that lasts a long time. The Airport Extreme is way more than extreme.

Most Frustrating Experience with Apple Products
Written by JM from Belle Mead
Jul 30, 2009
I loved my Airportsboth of them!--but they died young. I've had two models--this one and the older model. But I have just been forced to retire my second Airport. This is the second time the WAN port has been blown out. As with my older model Airport, everything else on the Airport Extreme Base Station still works fine: the computer can talk to it wirelessly, I can even print to the printer connected to the USB port wirelessly, and the ethernet connections work fine. But the Airport is useless now becausewithout the WAN port--it can't talk to the modem and connect to the internet. All I could use it for now is to extend my network. I've got an older Airport collecting dust in the drawer that can already do that. A repair guy I spoke to said he's never heard of this sort of problem before, and that it would cost more to repair it than buy a new one. I have been a faithful Apple customer since I got my first Mac in 1987. Still have that old Mac. We have two colored iMacs--my daughter still uses the green one--and an iMac G5. At my job, I asked for Macs: I have a G5 tower and a MacBook Pro laptop. But I can't afford to keep replacing these Airports. For some reason, the WAN ports are prone to blowing out. I am not willing to pay a premium for a product that doesn't hold up over time. I expect more from Apple.

I love this router one of the best investments I've made since I bought my Mac. It's Fast, easy set up, works great printing wireless & never drops like my other cr@ppy router *Cough* Belkin..I could be upstairs, downstairs, on my back or front porch & I never have a problem...Yeah! No more changing channels foolery..I suffered with my other router for months after I bought my Mac before I decide to get the Airport Extreme glad I did.

WOW!

This thing is great! After the simple and painless set up I connected to the internet faster than my Netgear 802.11n router. Most pages literally load as fast as turning pages to a book. I burn through streaming video much faster than I did before and this is all on my MacBookPro, can't wait to see how fast it's going to be on my 8 core MacPro! If you're going to own a Mac and connect wirelessly this thing is a MUST!

Easy to configure + Great Connectivity = Winner

Well, had some interesting experiences with a windows wi-fi clients over the years. Inconsistent connectivity being one of the issues along with fiddly configuration.
Enter the AirPort Extreme...
Had this up and running within minutes of connecting it. Like the security features and it feeds my MacBook with a reliable connection which has good range and speed. As with most Apple products, the router's casing also looks pretty neat.
If you don't have the time or the inclination to mess around with wireless clients and want a quick, secure and wireless N enabled router, you should consider this.(5 of 6 people found this review useful)

All I can Say is Wow..

I was really unsure of this purchase. I have just moved, and replaced my old Belkin Router with a new Belkin router. It was so slow, I've been on the phone with tech support several times, to no avail. I ordered the Airport Extreme, and had it up and running in about 5 minutes or so, connected to both my Macbook and my iMac. What a difference in speed. I'm not a techy, and I don't really get the different spec's....but I know once again, Apple has made a huge difference to me, and making something that is usually difficult super easy.

BEST WIFI ROUTER EVER
Written by AA from Cleveland
Jul 24, 2009
I replaced a 2WIRE wireless router with this AIRPORT EXTREME, and woah! It loads pages 5 times faster than the 2WIRE and the wireless range is considerably larger than the 2WIRE. I had problems losing the WIFI connection when I would go to the basement, outside or attic with the 2Wire.. Not anymore with this AirPort Extreme. Initial setup was easy and STAYS CONNECTED! to both of my MacBooks, my iphones and DirecTV (the 2wire always cut in and out, drove me nuts!!!!!!) Thank apple ;)

Airport Extremely Good!
Written by DM from Fort McMurray

OK, this product came within inches of getting 5 stars. Replaced a D-Link 802.11g / 100 Base T router that actually worked pretty good overall. Only glitch is I cannot get my Canon iP4500 inkjet to work with it using Bonjour. Even tried Gutenprint, but output was slow and ugly, so I went back to sharing it on my Mac Mini. Though part of the reason I went with the Air Ex was so I would not have to leave the Mini on all the time. Perhaps Apple will soon be releasing some updated printer drivers that will work (hint hint).
Pros: Works pretty much as advertised. Faaaaaaast! Stable so far. Can now access Mac formatted drives with Windose.
Cons: Does not work with all printers. Can't access Win NT formatted drives.(14 of 17 people found this review useful)

Best Apple Product I've ever bought
Written by RK from Tigard

I've been using this base station for over a year now with not a hint of any problem. My local Apple Genius Bar friend says he's been working at my Apple Store for two years and has yet to see an Airport Extreme brought in for physical repair. If I'd remembered about the 'reset' pinhole, mine would never have left the shelf it sits on.
