    More than I expected!

I had read so many bad reviews for this JamPack that I almost didn't buy it. But I'm glad I did. I am a Church music director and Read morealso do a great deal of soundtrack recording for local theatres. I like the fact that using the mod wheel I can change the vowel sound being sung, and not just two, but four different ones on some of the voices. I have used these sounds on three projects this past year. Granted they are not sounds that for the most part I will mix way out in front, but in the mix they sound great and have pleased my clients. I even found a use from some of the "hip-hop" type vocal loops. I had a project handed to me and they were just the thing I needed for one piece.
If you are looking for GREAT BGV's then you need a Roland VP-550, but for our everyday spec and demo work this is a life and time saver!

I teach a winterguard. I wrote our show's music this year using some of the samples on this Jam Pack!!! The kids loved it and IRead moret ended up being one of the most energetic soundtracks this season. If you're creative in how you use garageband, it's great! If you are totally dependent on loops, go somewhere else.

I almost didn't buy this pack because of some of the reviews. I'm glad that I went ahead and bought it despite the reviews. Yes,Read more there are other jam packs that I probably like better but this one will be very useful just the same. Sure there are a few loops that I probably won't use such as the gospel and choir but I just might need them someday. I use garageband and logic express for custom soundtracks for slideshows and presentations. Who knows someday a customer may want a gospel theme. I think that the reviews that listed this pack as junk is way off the mark, maybe it is the way that they are using the loops. Dunno. There really is a lot of good stuff on here and I am glad that I added it to my collection.

    Vocalizing ....My Disappointment

    Written by RL from Seattle

The Voices Jam Pack in my professional opinion (and I am a Musician that's not above the often shunned GarageBand program), is theRead more weakest release. The loops are obnoxious & the software instruments are minimal. Out the 19 new choruses or so, about 3 are believable. It's important that you know how to use a modulation wheel to, to utilize them best.
For the savvy (musically inclined) shopper confused in which order to purchase the Jam Packs on a budget, I would say start with Symphonic, Rhythm Section, Remix, World, and lastly Voices.
Voices is geared towards those wishing to create nonsensical raps & gospel sounds. There is another pack available non-Jam Pack brand that offers a 12-string guitar and mellotron that would be a more worthwhile purchase.

I hate to have to say it but I was very unimpressed with this Jam Pack. All the other Jam Packs I've had (I've got them all) have Read morebeen very useful and I've been very impressed by the quality but I loaded this one and listened to some of the choirs and I could not believe how bad they sounded. I wish Apple had done this one right. :-(
