I purchased this adapter so that I could extend my MacBook Pro display onto an old NEC 1770V LCD. As soon as I plugged everything…Read more in, the Mac instantly recognized the device and brought up the display settings. Two or three clicks later, everything was running perfectly fine.
My only complaint is the price. $30 is a little much, but I'm completely satisfied with the product.(7 of 10 people found this review useful)

Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter
Doesn't work with Samsung TV
Written by JM from Bryn Mawr

I'm very disappointed with this. I bought a new MacBook last week and got the VGA adapter so I could use it with my TV as I did my…Read more old PowerBook G4 (via the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter). The new adapter worked fine when I connected it to an overhead projector, but it doesn't seem to send a readable signal to my Samsung LN40A650 television.
I tried booting in to Windows via Boot Camp and got the same result.
I guess I'll have to try the DVI adapter with a converter from DVI to HDMI to use this with my TV. A Mini DisplayPort to HDMI (or even regular DisplayPort, which can be directly converted without using audio) would be ideal, but there doesn't seem to be any sign of that.(469 of 609 people found this review useful)
