My primary point being that the Office software (on Windows & Mac) itself is flawed (unfortunately without too many alternatives) and maybe...as suggested by a number of reviewers...apps such as Frontpage are not included because there ARE better apps available on the Mac.
I think that Office 2008 for Mac is worth every penny...

I am a new Mac user and I was concerned that I would not be able to access my files from the basic MS programs such as MS Excel an…Read mored Word. Office for Mac 2008 took away my fears. It is very stable and I can easily transition Excel, Word and Powerpoint files between the two platforms. A good program and worth the money for any new Mac user.

I attend college and need the APA format/ MLA styling for essays and doesnt have any decent templates to start building on. Plus #2 is the interface. It's REALLY smooth, intuitive, and well-done.
Plus #3 is PowerPoint. The makeover is just right.
The big minus is no VBA (Visual Basic for Applications). If you use VBA to automate processes in Office, it's gone from 2008. Not coming back.
But if you don't need VBA, and have never used it, it's well worth it.

Excel 2008 not for power users

The elimination of VBA from Excel 2008 means that users who depend on features like Solver, histograms, extended statistical analy…Read moreses (such as ANOVA), and custom VBA enhancements are left out in the cold. We are left with two options: (1)stay with Excel 2004 or (2)buy the Windows version (Excel 2007). The first option penalizes Intel-based Mac users with reduced performance. I've reluctantly gone with the second option - which requires Vista or XP and Parallels (or similar program). The other problem with this approach is the new "Ribbon" interface to the Office products. Expect to lose a couple of weeks of productivity as your learn how to locate your favorite functions.
