$30 for a piece of junk

    Written by RK from sunnyvale

i picked up this case at my local apple store back in january. by the end of february, it already ripped near the headphones hole.Read more it's now may and it's now ripped by the silent switch.

very disappointed. i figured since this was sold at the apple store, apple would test out the 3rd party items they decide to sell and only pick out the best. i do not believe they did their hw regarding this case.

very poor value, especially for $30.

another design flaw is that the hole for the camera isn't even aligned right.

    buyer beware!

    Worst Case Scenario...

    Written by DP from Portland

    May 16, 2009

Why did I purchase this particular case...?
Because it came in this wild, watermelon-y color that no one would mistake for their Read moreown and that would be highly visible in the vortex of my bottomless purse or a pile of clothes strewn about my bedroom.

So what's the deal with the bad review(s)...?
Most of these issues have been mentioned, but I'm adding my voice to the masses simply for those who remain unconvinced of this product's flaws and utter failings.

    1. The wood-grain/fingerprint design, while "cool" (sorta??!?) undermines the structural integrity of the case itself, thereby thwarting its purpose and usefulness as a protective case. In particular, the tear/rip near the headphone jack is a direct result of a "groove" in the "grain" pattern that weakens the material at that very location (namely, by thinning it).

    2. The case stretches out quite easily, allowing all kinds of dust, grime, and who knows what other creatures to crawl into its dark recesses and stay there until you finally realize it might be a good idea to take the case off and clean it.

    3. The part at the bottom is so floppy at this point that it's actually difficult to plug the charger in, which is annoying to say the least.

    4. The sticky material rips out my hair constantly. Seriously. If your hair is longer than an inch, do not buy this case unless you have trichotillomania or something and actually need help ripping your hairs out. If you're careful and try NOT to rip out your hair, you end up with a phone (+case!) mightily entangled in your locks, which detracts just a bit from the coolness of having an iPhone in the first place, and makes you look stupid as you try to shake your phone out of your hair like a swimmer with water in his ear...

    Bad news, kids.

    Don't buy.

    Good Protection, but material flaw

    Written by AA from Greenville

I had the older version of this for the previous iPhone. The material for that was flimsy and stretched to where it was unusable.Read more

This one is much stronger and provides better protection. The finish of this case is great for preventing slipping out of my hand & actually works well to hold in place when I sit it on the console of my car.

BUT, the case split in the area between the phone face and the headphone jack. This happened within the first few weeks of having the case.

Because of this material failure, I have to rate it low. All other features are acceptable.

    Good, but not perfect

    Written by AR from SOUTHLAKE

Definitely one of the better cases out there, especially aesthetically - it blends in perfectly with a black iPhone. Offers very Read moregood protection for the phone, even for slight drops. Used in conjunction with a screen protector, the phone is essentially completely shielded.

The surface is great for holding onto the phone and typing, BUT, if you like to slip the phone into and out of a pocket, it grabs the fabric. A lot. That's my only complaint.

If you buy a silcone case, do not get a flimsy one, you will regret it. This case is the best one out. PERIOD!
