    Ok, but kind of disappointed

I was so happy about the idea of this product, car charger, a stand for the car, connects to car's aux and mic all in one package.Read more...and a relatively inexpensive solution to boot.

I ripped it out the box, plugged it in (I'm using the Monster aux cable I have instead of the one included)...and before I start my iPhone's iPod app....static. It's minimal, but it's evident when music isn't playing. When the music is on, then I don't really hear it. Without it plugged into the car's battery charger, it's fine.

I haven't even tried the mic yet, but from the other comments, I already know what to expect.

Very bad interference on hands free

This is an excellent iphone dock and charger that connects easily to an aux input to the car stereo and sound quality is excellentRead more. However during phone calls i can hear very clearly but everyone i speak to complains of feedback interference and echoes. This is a great shame because it could be a great product apart from this. would be a 5 star if this was sorted. Would love to hear if there is a solution to this problem.

    Good idea - Bad Idea

I must admit when I saw this i thought "finaly something that both plays music and takes calls" however the qualty of the sound fRead moreor both call and music is poor. Not to mention as soon as you take a corner the arm moves, throwing your precious I-phone around the dashboard and not to mention highly irritating.

    Its a great concept but needs a bit more thought on these points;

-Feedback from the speakers when in call (not noticed by you but the person you're calling)

    - Quality of sound fed to the radio (I know it not a great mediem anyway but alot of the radio stations sound clearer)

    - Stiffer socket point (so the arm doesn't move)

nice design, not bad, not great

    IPhone 3Gs

    1. This is the most complicated packaging on earth, It took me 10 minutes and two cuts from a knife to get the producRead moret out.
    2. The pieces appear to be well designed and the holder for the phone is discreet.
    3. Install: Everything plugged in as advertised. My concerns before I bought were with the length of the arm holding the phone. This is a cantilever with a good amount of weight at the endpoint (the phone), so as suspected the phone moves when touched and has to be held to effectively push the home button without unintentionally repositioning. When the car was moving the movement wasn't too bad but it did move.
    4. Music play: Here I use both my ITunes library and Pandora. Both sounded great and again worked as advertised.
    5. Hands free: The unit came with a disclaimer about feedback. I feel this should be in the fine print before you buy. Hands free sounded great on my end, however the other end the feed back was really annoying. Because the mic is off to the side and at a similar level to the door speakers of the car there is a good amount of crossover in sound. You would have to turn the speakers down to an almost inaudible level to cancel the feedback. I have a Volvo Xc70 and this could be related to the location of my speakers, other cars may not have this problem.
    6. Verdict: Buy this for the music function and holder first and Hands free second. I like Belkin and have many of their products. This is simply a case of physics, and location, there is no magic device that will do this well for Hands free unless you pay $$$ for a pro unit.

    Works for me

    Written by SM from Loveland

I debated long over buying this product and used any and all reviews I could find. It is funny how you can read 10 good reviews bRead moreut the 1 bad one sticks in your mind. I imagine the task of making a product that will work even adequately in a large number of different vehicles is difficult and compromising. For me the tunebase direct does a good job at all the things I wanted it for. It provides a mount/holder, although no matter where I move the arm it does hinder access to the climate controls, but not enough to worry about. It does play music/etc. through my aux connection, and although not up to audiophile addict standards it sounds pretty good to me. And it does allow me to have hands free calling, and this feature seemed to be the most suspect in most reviews, but after adjusting volume levels on the phone and on the stereo it seems to work just fine. The caller claimed to hear me clearly enough and I heard them very clearly. And of course it charges the phone. The one thing that I might complain about is having to plug in a 3.5mm to the headphone jack. I'm no engineer and maybe it is obvious to those who are why this has to be, but I can't see why they can't make it so it only needs to be connected to the bottom dock connection. Other than that I am very satisfied with this unit.

    EXCELLENT PRODUCT!!!

I have been waiting for this device a long time. One you can play music and take calls thru your car stero without a Bluetooth devRead moreice(this one is "also" compatible with Bluetooth headset but not necessary). I looked for a device for the original iPhone since day one and now that I upgraded to the iPhone 3GS I am very happy this product arrived. It works very well. I like the capability of it charging too. (I did have the 3.5mm cable in backwards at first, my fault but when connected properly it starting the charging process). You have to adjust volume on phone and stero to get the right volume but once you do it works PERFECT! The gooseneck cable could have been just a bit longer but not really necessary for it to work great. I give this item a 5 STAR RATING.. I am so happy I purchased this today. Very easy installation. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!
