AirPort Extreme Base Station
What a Relief!
Written by JR from Saginaw

My previous well-known router, which shall remain nameless, worked well when it was working, but every time I had a serious problem with my computer, it had to be set up again. I couldn't figure out how to do this and the manufacturer's tech support was of no help, so I had to pay $100 to $150 to have someone come out and set it up for me. This happened 3 times in 3 years. This week after the manufacturer took 19 email messages to tell me he couldn't help me, I decided to spend $179 for Airport Extreme instead of $150 for another service call. I did need help setting it up, but Apple Tech Support had me up and running on three computers within half an hour. And I am amazed at how much faster the internet works now.

I don't think there's any other products right now that actually lets you broadcast 2 different wifi connections out there! It's so great for sharing files with one another and when I'm on the Internet it's as fast as if I was to connect a LAN cable in! I really recommend this to all.

Picked this up today from the Apple Store in Southampton, to replace an existing Airport Express network. Set up in 10 minutes, downloaded the new firmware update & all is working wonderfully.
iMac, MacBook Air and Apple TV are all blazing along at up to 270 mbps on the 'N' side of the network, and my iPhone is quite happy on the 'G' side of things.
As always, this just works...Apple, you've quite simply done it again for this happy customer!!!(68 of 71 people found this review useful)

AirPort Extreme Base Station
Solid product

Bought my first Airport Extreme after checking with a few people who are Apple users.
Took me about an hour and half in setting it up since I'm a novice at these sort of things. Works great from a corner of an old basement that also has steel beams and poles for support. No interference at all from the basement to the floored attic. Excellent reception. I would highly recommend this product. Has a good solid feel to it and the plug in power cord is plenty long enough to find an outlet.

My brand new imac never seemed to connected to my home wifi with much stability. As a result I upgraded my router 3 times to see if a new router would fix my problem. I was unsuccessful with all 3 attempts.
I figured I would try the airport extreme as a last result before I took in my imac for diagnostics. I installed the airport extreme in 10 minutes, and immediately the speed and stability on not only my imac, but my macbook, and my 2 sony vaios increased tremendously. I recommend this router to everyone especially if your having trouble with your imac connecting to a network.(43 of 44 people found this review useful)

I purchased the Airport Extreme the same day I got my 24" iMac. Being that I was new to Mac OSX Leopard I wasn't even sure if I could even connect it to my iMac? I quickly learned that Apple Products are so User Friendly & was able to set up a Secure Wireless Network with ease. Besides my 24" iMac I also have my XBOX 360, Playstation 3 & Apple TV hooked up to the Airport Extreme. We are able to have someone playing on XBOX LIVE, someone watching Apple TV, someone Downloading Music on my iMac & a guest logged on to my Airport Extreme Wireless Network on there Mac Book all simultaneously without causing any lag or interference! I recently added a 1TB Time Capsule To My Wireless Network. You can see my review on that as well? I'll never use window based products again! Go Apple!!

AirPort Extreme Base Station
Brilliant, best buy ever made.

I bought my iMac along with this base station. I hooked it up in my garage as that was where my internet connection was and where I do most of my photography work. Initially I had some reception issues as I had my iMac in the kitchen, but then the station was going through about 4 solid brick walls. So I moved it to the window just above the garage door and whala, no problems since. I can even pick up the signal on my iPhone at my gate entrance which is over 60m away with no loss of signal. Its been brilliant and my internet connection is never interupted. I can't recomend this product enough. If you need wireless then get this. I connected my printer to it and didn't even have to to anything, the station saw it connected, recognized it and loaded it and I print with no hassel. I have my wireless locked so that no one else can use it but my brothers both have macbooks and connected with no problems when I give them the password. Works just fine with my iPhone too. Love it!! I do wish I had gone for the 1T Base station so that my iMac will back up there than using my external HDD.

Extreme Base Station and AirPort Express
Written by RM from Land O Lakes

I first purchased the Express to stream music from the second floor of my home to the first floor. A few months later I decided to purchase the Extreme Base Station because I wanted to extend my wireless network. These two items together are phenomenal. I use the Express to not only extend my wireless, and stream music but I use the Ethernet port as a LAN port for my PS3. The connection to the PS3 is just as good as being wired to the Base Station itself. I'm not and Apple fan by any means. I own a pc, a T-Mobile G1, and an ipod. I simply like great hardware that functions beautifully. And this does. I highly recommend Base Station and the Express.
