Being a fan of the Marware Protection Pack, I bought this because it seemed like an identical solution for the new MacBook Pro, and also because Marware has not yet released a new protection pack. The Power Support wrist pad is softer and cushier than the Marware pad, and is made of a sort of suede-like material. A nice touch is that there is a sample of the texture adhered to the exterior of the packaging so you can see what it feels like before you open it. However I was a bit disappointed after installation when I saw that the wrist pad does not extend all the way to the edges of the aluminum body, so you still get that sharp edge of the computer digging into your wrist. But it is very comfortable to rest your palm on while typing.

Apple says they put a lot of effort into engineering the surface of the new trackpad, and I think the results show. The trackpad already has a very smooth and pleasant surface to mouse on, and the film that comes with the Power Support protection pack takes away from, if anything, something that is better off by itself. Maybe if you are more concerned about scratches or finger oil ruining your trackpad you would want to use the film, but in my opinion it is a much more pleasant experience using the trackpad as it is without the film, as the film seems to increase friction between the finger and the trackpad, and slows your finger down.

Note: Right out of the box, the wrist pad may tend to "shed" when u start rubbing against it but after u dust everything off a few times it will stay clean.
