Within minutes, you and up to 50 others can use your Mac computers or PCs to surf the web, stream video, share photos, and more — without wires.3

Dual Band icon

Simultaneous dual-band Wi-Fi. NEW

For maximum range and compatibility, Time Capsule works simultaneously on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, allowing all the devices on the network to use the most efficient band automatically. Time Capsule also works great as a wireless hard drive, whether you have a Mac or a PC. It sets up in a snap, giving you a networked hard drive you can use for storing and sharing all kinds of files. If you're a MobileMe member using a Mac with Mac OS X Leopard, you can even access the files on the drive over the Internet.5

  1. (1) Time Capsule is based on an IEEE 802.11n draft specification and is compatible with IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, and IEEE 802.11g.
  2. (2) 1GB = 1 billion bytes; 1TB = 1 trillion bytes. Actual formatted capacity less.
  3. (3) Wireless Internet access requires a wireless-enabled computer, a base station or other access point, and Internet access; fees may apply. Some ISPs are not currently compatible with Time Capsule.
  4. (4) Performance is based on a comparison with Apple's 802.11g products. Comparison assumes Time Capsule-based network with 802.11n-enabled computer. Speed and range will be less if an 802.11a/b/g product joins the network. Accessing the wireless network requires an AirPort or AirPort Extreme enabled computer or other Wi-Fi Certified 802.11a/b/g-enabled computer. Actual performance will vary based on range, connection rate, site conditions, size of network, and other factors. Range will vary with site conditions.
  5. (5) MobileMe is available to persons age 13 and older. Annual subscription fee and Internet access required. Terms of service apply.

    A Little Beauty

My Time Capsule arrived in the post today and is backing up both my Mac and my daughter's Mac as I write. Installation was faultleRead moress. Not only can I connect both iMacs wirelessly, but my iPhone can now access iTunes. If there is a criticism, the Time Capsule runs a little too hot for my liking. Otherwise it does just what it says on the tin. A brilliant addition.

I read all the reviews on this product and was tempted to give it a miss, however an awful lot of the negative reviews appeared toRead more dismiss the product for minor problems, I downloaded the manual and read it and think the negative reviews were because people had not read the manual.

I decided this item was for me and have not looked back, although a little over priced (It is Apple after all), I backed up my 250GB iMac wirelessly in a little over 5 hours and my 320 GB MacBook Pro (New) in a little over an hour via network cable. Obviously this was the first back up and you should expect this to take some time.

For 2 months now my Time Machine on both Mac's have been backing up in flawless fashion. I also switched off the Wirless on my existing router and use the wirless on the Time Capsule with more range and better signal.

This is a great product and worth buying.

A very helpful Genius diagnosed that my first TC was faulty when it wouldn't print wirelessly. The replacement works perfectly, wiRead moreth both printing and wireless back-ups with Time Machine. I had read that these back-ups take down the entire network, well they don't. It's a great comfort to know that these back-ups are being done routinely, in the background, and I find the Time Machine concept a great idea. I can't recomment TC and TM enough. Well done Apple once again.

    Total piece of mind

It must be said I was initially put off this product having read various reviews on the apple website and elsewhere. However I ordRead moreered nevertheless having had awful experiences with losing data on my old (non-apple) PC. I Followed the instructions to the letter and I did my initial back-ups with a Ethernet cable plugged in, which did 80 gb in 3+ hours, which I thought was fairly reasonable. It managed to bridge to my sky DSL router perfectly. In all I have been very impressed wit this product and heaven forbid anything should happen to my laptop I will not have lost any important information, which I personally think is worth a huge amount. Couldn’t have been simpler!
