    Basic requirement not met

Bento is good at the frills bit of a Database - providing patterned and coloured backgrounds etc. However, ask Bento to do a realRead morely useful task of printing addresses, imported from Address Book, onto a sheet of labels it fails. Not only that but "Help" has no ideas either. I have had to revert to good old Appleworks which can do a mail-merge and do the printing. Bento is very disappointing!

    Everything in one place

I love Bento. The poster who complained about it only doing stuff that Address Book, iPhoto and iTunes do completely misses the poRead moreint. Bento lets you have all of that (and more) in ONE PLACE. Then, you can cross-reference and file things that are linked rather than going from one application to another.

I use it for many different little projects and even for keeping a record of my exercise training schedule. If you're using a spreadsheet to keep lists of things or finding it hard to keep track of files, emails, tasks, appointments, to-dos, then I thoroughly recommend Bento.

    don't like it

Sorry but I bought this and thought it was useless. Don't buy it if you want to do any kind of mail merge or print labels as it foRead morerces you back to using less than friendly address book to do antyhing with addresses! It is a very neutered version of Filemaker, and sadly has less ability than my old copy of Apple works 6.2 (which Bento can't import).

Do not waste your time or hard drive space.

Database for your music, what is itunes? Database for your contacts, what is address book? Database for your photo media, what iRead mores iphoto. I teach ICT and bought this cause the demos looked good. But creating databases of all the things that are already in better databases does not make sense. I know that you can create your own databases, but they are all very basic because they are flat file. If you need database software get something where you can actually create relationships otherwise you would be better of using a spreadsheet.

    Fantastic simple to use database

    Written by SG from Loughborough

This is a really simple to use database. Set the feilds you want to collect data for in a table or start a simple database in a spRead morereadsheet. Import and select where each field goes. Need to track emails related to a particular project, simple add an predesigned email field and as long as you have the email in mail just drag and drop the same for associated files on your mac. All with out having to spend hours learning database programming.

Unfortunately my company does do mac but with this program maybe they should!!!!. Unfortunately do go expecting its bigger brother (Filemaker pro) to be as easy or to import those lovely designed databases!
