a mixed bag

i have had this printer since christmas, i use it wireless with a g5 i mac, a g4 macbook all running through a white saucer shaped…Read more airport extreme. i can print and scan from all my machines the results suit me fine. photos look good, scans are ok, text is fine. the only thing is i have to turn on the printer just prior to printing and turn it off when i am done. the unit will not wake from sleep and needs to be un plugged and replugged in to work. i have also experienced the paper jam issue but only once. i like the small size and the sd card slots. it is a work around to always turn on the unit to print but i like to turn off things when they are not in use, exception being my refrigerator.
i set my printer up from software from the hp site using bonjour. the setup was not like other mac stuff and was cumbersome. it is a mixed bag(10 of 10 people found this review useful)

Huge Disappointment

Print quality is fine; speed is mediocre. However, printing a Word 2008 document has been repeatedly disastrous: (1) sections prin…Read moret in miscellaneous order; (2) restarting the printer after it stops for lack of paper can be time-consuming and can require deleting the unfinished portion of the paper and issuing new commands; (3) the default was to print with last page on top, rather than first page on top. I can cope with all of these things, but the time and aggravation have been high. It's the worst inkjet printer that I have had in many years. Even for the "deal" price of about $30, it wasn't worth it.
HP has many things going for it; good on-line support, good printing quality for low price, but it seems that it did a terrible job on software (at least for the Mac when used with Office 2008).(8 of 10 people found this review useful)

Yeah, it falls asleep but wakes right up when I try to print something. Set up was simple, easy and didn't take very long. I highly recommend this product to everyone!

This is the best printer I have ever-owned. The built in wifi (802.11g) works like it should with the ability to bypass a router a…Read morend connect directly to a Mac or PC. It prints fast, and has amazing ink economy. The scanner is a bit slow, but for the price that can be expected. You can also bypass a computer and print directly from a Camera memory card, via its one inch screen. It is cheaper at other stores but with apple you get their amazing customer service.
One con is that it is 802.11g as opposed to 802.11n which would allow for faster data transfer, but printers have often been the last ones to catch up with technology.(239 of 256 people found this review useful)
