    Hit and miss

Love it or hate it, neat compact and better Key markings, two ports either side albeit not all appliances work from these ports. Constantly hitting two keys and on the discussions forum many have a problem with the keys not registering the letter, hence i keep smacking my finger down hard, getting stressed, deleting all before and making life worse. Shift key does this a lot. You may be lucky and get a good one. Easier to clean.

i finally upgraded from my old powerbook to the 24" imac. while i love the iMac, i hate the keyboard, and especially hate the mouse.

i was a logitech S530 wireless keyboard+mice made for mac previously and would never give it up for the new keyboard or mighty mouse.

ok i bought the imac 24" and i wondered what the keyboard looked like so i came to this and i was like wait no num pad and then i went to speak with an apple store person and she said you can change your order and when you were buying it if you looked at what you were buying in parentheses it says (num pad) so i went looked and it clearly said it. so before writing a review on the product read what your buying..... and i cant wait till my mac comes =]

Best keyboard ever and I don't say that lightly

This is by far the best keyboard I have ever used and I have been computing since 1979. The simplicity and low profile are brilliant design elements. It's the solidness of the design, however, that tops it off. At first it looks dainty, but when you pick it up and hold it you can feel how solid it really is. Kudos on this one Apple!

    New standard keyboard is excellent!!!

Having very recently purchased an apple imac I am delighted with the aesthetics and the ergonomics of the smaller keyboard that comes standard with the package.

I understand that there is an optional numeric keyboard, however I opted for the smaller space saving keyboard since it is not much different to a laptop keyboard; with the additional shortcuts.

I figured that it would take a little time for me to get used to the key board although so far the flat keys are proving to be successful, enabling me to type faster!
Additionally I find that it does not slide about on the desk which makes for a happy user :D.

    Thanks apple.

Don't Panic: It's Small But Awesome

I freely admit that when my iMac arrived and I saw this dinky little keyboard first I laughed and then I quietly freaked out. I thought there was no way that after using full sized keyboards forever that I would ever get used to the small size. The good news is that there is no getting used to it--the transition was seamless. I actually seem to typing faster and even quieter (the old keyboards were too loud for my tastes). The things that are "missing" from this keyboard are things that us borderline technologically challenged computer users never really use anyway and therefore don't miss. Black keys would be nice though, I have to agree.

Looks cool, but the keys sometimes don't work unless you hit them right in the center.

    Fits my needs ergonomically

I'm a bit of a nut about ergonomics, but on the other hand (pun intended) I've never had sore hands or wrists in 15 years on various computers. So I was curious to try this keyboard, opting for the cheaper wired version to replace my bulky extended keyboard. I realized my old keyboard was sticking out to the right (because of the number pad which I never use) just enough to block my mouse at times, causing me to strain a bit.
I like the new thin design. Because I use a Wacom tablet in front of it, I placed a old thin book under the keyboard to raise it to the height of my Wacom. So my hands/wrists rest on the tablet just at the level needed to type on the keyboard. I have a Kensington Expert Mouse (roller ball type) at right. All is good now, in a very small space.
I have medium to large man-sized hands, and have no problem using this keyboard. I think I probably am typing a bit faster on it than on the other one. The keys do not have to be pushed down as far, sort of like my G4 laptop.
I haven't had any problems with dirt on the keys as another user reported. Typical office environment, but I don't normally eat at my desk or have goobery hands.
The 2 USB 2.0 ports are another plus.

I wanted a wireless keyboard, but couldn't justify the added expense. This is a great little keyboard even though it isn't wireless. It's small, but that was the point of buying it. So I have to give it a thumbs up...well done.
