Completely unshielded so if you have a cell phone and it gets within 20 feet of your speakers you get the most annoying series of beeps and burps. Also, the headphones jack sounds completely different from plugging into the headphone jack of the computer (even completely different from plugging into the speakers jack). It sounds like listening to music with cotton balls in your ears. Why put a jack there at all if it is going to sound terrible.
The actual output of the speaker (if your cell phone is far away), is a little bass heavy, but otherwise acceptable.(7 of 14 people found this review useful)

I have to say, I'm very impressed with these speakers. I just bought them around 2 weeks ago, and the sound quality is amazing. The bass is really nice and deep, the mids are very nice, and it has crisp treble. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that I can't crank the volume up on these. They have amazing sounds, but to get a loud volume that some people would like for listening to music, it wouldn't be loud enough. I would still say five stars though, because no-one really needs to crank it up extremely loud, and it does go fairly loudly at three quarters max volume. Definitely worth the $100.

Pretty good speakers for the price

First Bose product I've owned. Came from some junk logitechs but i've had my share of good audio systems in my cars. The bass is a bit overwhelming at first but thanks to iTunes built in equalizer I reduced the bass and it sounds great now. Out of the box all speakers could use some tweaking, and these are no different. Wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I recommend these speakers to anyone who wants good quality at a low price. These are not the best sound I have ever heard (my Bose headphones) but it is excellent for casual listening from computer speakers. If I really want to crank up the music I play my tunes wirelessly through Apple TV to my surround sound. Over all an excellent choice for speakers to plug into your Mac.

Great speakers.... unless you have an iPhone

These speakers sound really nice, until your iPhone lapses into edge mode and then beeps, clicks and that digital noise that drives you crazy gets going. I even moved the phone across my office (15+ feet) and there was no relief from the digital noise.
My office is in an area where my iphone seems to hop from 3G to edge and back again regularly.
These speakers seem to have no shielding whatsoever. If you don't have an iPhone, I would say they are a great deal for the price. If you have an original iPhone or a 3g that has to work in edge sometimes, I would suggest avoiding these speakers.(10 of 11 people found this review useful)

For a two speaker system, the sound quality lives up to the Bose reputation. The set up was a snap. It's also nice having the headphone jack accessible on the right speaker.

I bought these to use with a new macbook. I am an avid fan of Bose and these speakers are true to the high quality of their product. I highly recommend these and would even buy them again if they were twice the price!

I am an avid music fan and I wanted a set of fairly inexpensive speakers for my 24" iMac, these were the speakers for me. I wish they had a bit more bass to them, but considering their size and price, they more than get the job done. I listen to all kinds of music, rock sounds great, hip hop has a good amount of bass, but personally not enough for me, jazz sounds super sweet, The Beatles sound wonderful, and Doves new album is legendary with these speakers! I usually have to listen to music and movies on my Mac with volume turned all the way up, but with these speakers I have to keep them turned down so I don't keep my roommate up at night. I have always been a big fan of Bose but not of their prices, but in this case, it's a steal for Bose sound. If you really want some bass you might want to get the Companion 3 series, but be prepared to cash out. All in all, get these if you don't want to spend a lot for great Bose sound!!!

Gorgeous Sound from such a Small, Asthetically Pleasing Speaker

These speakers are truly amazing! They are fairly inexpensive and deliver a gorgeous, spacious sound. I have no complaints and would recommend them to anyone! On top of it, they look great with any desktop setup.
For those concerned about the lack of an on/off switch, don't worry. Just unplug them when you're done with them and you won't use up any unnecessary electricity. Plus, doing so retains the life of the speakers.(16 of 16 people found this review useful)
