I bought it to replace my old charger, which also worked fine, but it wouldn't charge my new iPod nano 4th generation (because of the firewire/USB issue).

I wish somebody would make a car charger and a male-to-male mini audio cable (my car has a mini input for iPods) that would both fit together in the iPod at the same time. This charger and my Monster white cable fit in together if you shove hard. Not made to do so.

I bought from the Apple Store instead of from other places that had USB chargers for much less because I didn't want to risk my expensive iPhone 3G with a cheap charger. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I was surprised to learn that the Griffin charger's output is only 500 mA vs 1000 mA. The wall charger that comes with the iPhone 3G is 1 Amp (same as 1000 mA) why isn't this charger that much? Other people make 1000 mA USB power adapters. As a result I expect it will take longer to charge a low battery and it might not be able to charge during heavy use but that is not really a big deal. Good value for the price; it seems like a quality product. I like the indicator light that changes color once fully charged.

You may be wondering about the title and me giving it 4 stars...well, I bought it for the car charging capabilities and the design of this is very nice. Straight cord that's easily kept short with a twist tie and it can be used in the laptop or in the car. It does what I wanted it to do. So, it gets 5 stars for this. However, I immediately tested the syncing capabilities and it seems to have some problems with my iPhone, unlike the original one that came with the device. So, for syncing it is not so good. But again, it charges just fine.

If you're primary goal is to have another syncing cable, I would not recommend this. But if you need a charger that you can carry in your bag/car while you leave one at home connected to an external monitor or iMac then I would suggest this.

I recently bought a Ipod Touch from a friend, unfortunately they didn't have any of the accessories I looked around for some, and found this one was the cheapest I could find, was a bit hesitant, I can now say I have been pleasantly surprised, charges fast, and use can detach the charging cable and use it at your computer too

I had to buy my Iphone 3g products straight from apple, I wouldnt trust another company to go with. So far so good with my first purchase, which was this Griffin PowerJot Car Charger. I would recommened to anyone to choose this, its black sleak. Also allows you to power up from your computer.

Buy it.

the charger fits nice and snug when connected to the iPhone (1st Gen) but I wish the cable was longer and retractable.

I purchased this charger at a Mac store - it was the only one they carried...for me the cord was too long, and I ended up purchasing a Jolt SE from Griffin, with the coiled cord.

I owned the charger about two weeks - and it worked as advertised.

I would have given it five stars, however I believe the construction of the unit could have been better - which, for me, is true of all Griffin products.

Works great as a car charger with my 3g. However when I use the cable to sync to my Acer Aspire 4720Z, iTunes will not recognize the iPhone. If you only need a car charger, it's great. If you might want to sync with the cable, it may not work with every computer.
