Contour Flick Case for iPhone 3G
AMAZING!
Written by LL from Mansfield

This is by far the best case for the iPhone. I have kept the same case on my phone for the last 8 months, and even after dropping in on concrete plenty of times there has been no damage. No worries about scratches when you take it off and it works great wih a dock. Just make sure to remove and clean the case every now-and-then!!

Contour Flick Case for iPhone 3G
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

This case scratches so much, It's not even funny. It does NOT protect the chrome on your phone, it actually SCRATCHES it! In the first week, the back of this looked like I've had it for 3 years. This product is just a $35 piece of thin plastic. It actually scratches the back of your phone as well! My Apple Logo on the back of my iPhone 3G is super scratched. Try the Incase Slider.

Contour Flick Case for iPhone 3G
I bought both black and white cause I liked it so much...

FYI I am a veteran when it comes to electronics, from early palms, several pocket pcs, several generations of iPods usually keep them to the point where they fail. I have bought many products to protect much of these.
There are two types of people... Is full protection more important versus looks, which is more important to you.
I am about the looks unfortunately... it's all about form factor, and how much I want to carry it in public.
Things I like
1)It's a small form factor and does not feel like it adds bulk at all.
2) It's very curvy around the iphone. At first glance, it does not seem there is a case around it when you look closely at it.
3) I like the finish, it's shiny and not so dull. To me if you get a case, you want to get something that seems as shiny as the body. But obviously it is not as good as the original finish. But very minor difference.
4) I like the flick flap which is useful for docking. I have a griffin I trip, and you need to expose the end to dock with it. Even though it is really thin (2-3 mm it adds). That's enough to cause issue with docking. Also since it's attatched (hinged), it's less likely I would loose it (I am bad about that.).
What I don't like but can live with...
1) Note (I bought the crystal screen protector at the Mac store to protect the face, which I love as well.) . The chrome around the face and around the base where the dock is, is exposed, and not protected. People complain about the scratching and I can see why. More chance of scatching it if you like to keep it in a storage full of loose abbrasive items (coins, keys, bag full of stuff.). I actually like it exposed caused of the looks, but I tend to not keep it in pockets with keys or change. IN THE END, IT DOES NOT PROTECT CHROM AND THE AREAS AT THE BOTTOM.
2) Ok th actual finish does scratch. Surprised people complain on this one. Honestly that's why you buy it. But in my opinion, better your case then your phone. I find that cases that don't scratch, have a dull finish and and more of a rubber look. The Incase Slide (which I really wanted to buy for better protection, but did not like the finish), is awesome in protecting, better then the flick, but IMHO, it gives my phone the look of a rubbered brick, even though it still retains it's thin sexy form factor.
But a couple of things, In my experience, all finishes that are nice, or shiny, will scratch, metal, plastic, glass etc. IMHO, you are buying a case to take the punishment then the expensive equipment underneath. I fully understand that I will prolly buy another case in a year or less. It's like socks, they wear out after the constant punishment, and eventually you need to buy another pair.
Also whats the point of protecting something as sexy as an iphone, if you dumb it down with something that does not look as good, just so it can look good when you take off the protector, alone I may add, does not make much sense. Again it's a matter of looks versus the coverage of protect, and which is more important to you.
Conclusion,
In the end I like mine. It has scuffed up and scratched in the last 3 weeks, but I think about how that would have been the iphone itself, and I feel good that it's taking the punshment then my 900 dollar phone. It's thin, sexy, shiny and adds a reaaly nice look. It does not protect the Chrome, AND YOU WILL NEED TO BUY A SCREEN PROTECTOR ON TOP OF THAT. But I really love the way it looks on the phone.
I bought the black one first, and loved it so much I picked up a white as well....(32 of 36 people found this review useful)

Contour Flick Case for iPhone 3G
It Scratches
Written by KK from BATON ROUGE

it scratched and scuffed the edges, back, side, and chrome of the the phone. It even voided the warranty, because it appeared as it was "dropped" constantly when really the scratches just came from the case. I'd go with a different sliding case, or a gel one if you really want to avoid scratching.

Great Case!

I bought this case, and i've had it for a couple weeks now. There is no visible damage to the phone, and i love it. It's definately worth the money. It's easy to slide in and out of your pocket, which is the main reason i bought it.

Contour Flick Case for iPhone 3G
Scratched the chrome for me, too
Written by JR from Troy

I really like the look and precision of the white version of this case. It seemed to come the closest to the original contours and look of the white iPhone. It really does have very nice, close fit, and the holes, especially the camera hole, line up perfectly. I thought it was a great balance between protection and functionality.
I also second another reviewer's opinion that the case is uncomfortable against the ear when on a call. It has a rather pointy bevel edge. I used some very fine sandpaper to round off the edge on the top part of the case that where it hit my ear (sanded it while OFF the phone, of course). Then it was fine.
However, after a few weeks of use, the flip-up bit was leaving visible scratches in the chrome. This isn't acceptable in what is supposed to be a "protective" case. And this is the same part of the chrome that is exposed when the flip is up for docking, so the scratches are very visible when the case us used as intended.
Sadly, this won't be going back on my phone.

So So

I have this case and loved the way it looked when I got it. But when I removed it there were some scratches on the chrome. Also, the rubber hinge does not stay white. I put my phone in my jean pocket and now the rubber is permanently blue. It won't come clean. I ending up getting a different cover just because it started to look unclean. Kind of defeats the sleek, doesn't look like a cover design.

Don't waste time on others

I have tried around 10 cases for both the original iPhone and the 3G and if you keep your phone in your pocket, this is the only one to get.
