    Great Design, Questionable Build Quality

    Written by JH from Ashburton

    ** The Case **
The case is very thin and light compared other cases out there and makes a barely noticeable difference to the iPhone's overall thickness. It was a breeze to attach and remove. It is a very attractive design and the matte finish is personal taste, but I personally really enjoy the additional grip and finger-print resistance it provides. Importantly, the case does not cover all of the chrome surround, the top or bottom of the phone so if your after complete coverage and protection look elsewhere.

Detracting from the good design of this product is the very questionable build quality. Within days of attaching this case, the matte rubberized finish along the edges (especially around the four corners of the cover) began to scratch off, revealing the clear plastic underneath. Since owning the cover for about 2 month other small bits of the coating have been scratched off. It has become clear that the rubberized coating is too thin or some other build quality issue is the cause of this because this occurred under normal (and quite meticulous) use. This is consistent with many of the other user reviews.

    ** The Screen Protector **
The package comes with both a glossy protector which mimics the existing finish in the screen and matte finished screen protector for glare minimization. I have attached the matte finish as I was sick of the constant finger prints, greasy build-up and glare of the standard glossy finish. The screen protector has been very good and would protect the screen against minor scratches and likely reduce the severity (but not offer complete protection) against major drops and bumps. The screen protector does not use an adhesive, instead using some form of static attachment which makes fitting the protector relatively easy but still unavoidably fiddly. The only downsides to the screen protector is that any dusk particles no matter how small will become very obvious if they are stuck between the protecting film and the screen and that the protector slightly reduces the overall brightness and contrast of the glossy screen.

Screen Protection is Great/ Air Jacket Is Terrible

    Written by AH from Carmichael

Pretty much sums up what I think about this case. The protective films do an awesome job of keeping the screen free of scratches, etc.

But less than a month into use, the Air Jacket started to loose its black finish around all of the edges. After about 9 months of usage, the back is completely cracked and there's gaping holes all over the finish. The back of my iPhone has tons of little scratches from dirt getting in between the case and moving around.

I'm not really sure what the Air Jacket would even protect the iPhone from, if anything. My advice, ditch this package and just buy the screen protectors with a different case. You'll be far happier.

    Love it and Hate it

I am so conflicted. The form factor of this case is fantastic! So thin it almost looks like the phone doesn't have a case at all. The slightly rubberized finish makes the phone easier to handle too.

But I hate this case because after about a month, I took the case off and lo and behold, the back of my phone is now covered in scratches, chips, and dings. I wonder why I had a case on my phone at all.

A case is supposed to protect the phone, period! Simply put, the Air Jacket fails miserably in this regard. The one star is for the form factor only.

I am VERY happy with this case!

I didn't want to get a case for my phone, but after 8 months, the wear and tear was starting to show. I went for this case because it was so thin, and man is it ever. The case barely adds anything to the phone, and if anything, it makes it easier to handle.

I highly recommend this case if you're looking for some protection for your phone that won't add half an inch of thickness to it.

    Fragile!

    Written by NR from Austin

I purchased this case based on the majority great reviews & the fact that I wanted a very slim profile case that did not detract from the iPhone's design. Unfortunately, the case is very fragile, especially around the volume & ring/vibrate switch. There is a thin piece of plastic that runs between the up volume button and the ring/vibrate switch that cracked after only 2 days of very gentle use. It was not dropped, or hit against anything...I think it cracked at one point when I removed & replaced the case. This crack caused the case to lift away from the upper left side of the iPhone slightly. Also, I noticed after removing it at the Apple Store when I was going to exchange it that the finish was scratching off in this same area. This latter find lead me to the decision to not exchange for the same product, so I went with the Contour Flick case which is a tad bit thicker, made of more pliable material (less prone to cracking) and it works quite well.

The main pro to the Power Support Air Jacket is its slim design, but it's not strong enough to withstand even gentle daily use.

The screen covers that come with the Air Jacket are fantastic, however.

    GREAT FORM AND FUNCTION

PERFECT for protecting the phone from scratching and chipping. It doesn't offer much in the form of screen protection so if you are a total klutz you might not want this.

It's slim profile allows you to use the iPhone with many accessories including some holsters without the need to remove it.

The only thing that prevents me from giving it a 5 is that the rubber coating is rubbing off around the button area, revealing the transparent hard plastic under neath so the phones silver chrome ring shows threw in those areas.

Perfect for the careful iPhone owner!

THIS IS THE CASE FOR YOU IF YOU WANT:
    - An extremely thin and light case (barely a difference in overall thickness/weight between having this case on and off your phone)
    - Scratch protection for the back, sides and corners of your phone for that rare occasion your phone slips and falls from low to moderate heights
    - Easy application of screen protection films (I don't know of any other case that leaves so much of the face of the iPhone exposed that applying screen protectors is just as easy as having no case on at all)
    - A case that's easy to put on and take off your phone (but that won't pop off when you need it most)
    - You'd like to at least give screen protectors a try (the case is about the same price as similar products, yet comes with two variations of Power Support's fantastic screen protectors)

THIS CASE IS NOT FOR YOU IF:
    - You're clumsy (honestly, this case isn't going to provide complete protection if your prone to dropping your phone or if you're worried about ever dropping it from chest height or higher)
    - You don't care about screen protection films (well, you really should)
    - You want a case that covers the iPhone's ports (no port protection here)

    ADDL NOTES
I highly recommend the anti-glare protection film included with this case. Not only do you not have to worry about constantly wiping the smudges off your iPhone's screen, it makes it much easier to view the screen in day light, and allows your fingers to glide across the screen more smoothly.

This may not be the case for everyone, but for the careful iPhone 3G owner, it's perfect!

Does What It Say It Does.

Without a doubt this very good product from Powersupport does what it says it will do. My iPhone has slipped out of my pocket on a few instances onto the floor and this case has protected it just fine. The case is clear plastic and the thing you have to remember is the case is not going to remain spotless clean and free of scratches for an eternity but the main thing is your actual iPhone is protected and is basically free of scratches. Coupled with the Powersupport Crystal or Anti-Glare film you have the 2 ingredients you need to keep your iPhone as pristine as it can be for a long time. I like the Air Jacket case better than the Power Support Crystal Case which I think is almost the same thing as the Air Jacket but a little bulkier. But I guess it's all your opinion.

    Best yet for the minimalist

Love it... it really is the the best case for those looking to keep the sleek look of the iphone intact and limit the increase in size a case often does.

Have tried a couple cases and eventually stopped using them because of the added bulk. Still using this one!!

Love the matte black finish, not only because it doesn't scratch like a polished case, but because it adds just enough "grip" to the case to make the phone feel more secure in the hand and on slippery surfaces yet it's still easy to remove from a tight pocket.

The matte finish feels almost soft to the touch, replicating an almost fabric or leather feel, but it's a hard case.

And yes they kept it thin enough to add the least bulk possible yet it's still adds that needed degree of safety. I like how it's very simple to pop in and out of the case making it a non-issue for use with my dock connector. No sliding, it just pops on and off from the side. No sharp edges either.

And comes with 2 screen protectors (anti-glare and clear).
