No hiss when charging, no clutter when not in use.
Since both my cars turn off power to the cigar lighter socket and aux device socket when the key is removed, it's simple just to leave these plugged in.
It should be noted that these don't just charge IPods, but pretty much anything USB. Motorola Phones and Blackberries charge as quickly as with their fast wall chargers.
To the gentleman with hissing. COnsider you might have a problem with your charging system. A resistor can be placed in the line to the cigar lighter that would likely fix your issue.(20 of 22 people found this review useful)

This little quick charger powers/charges my GPS & WM Device. In car & motorcycle.
To sit “flush”, you will need min. 1.6”/4.1cm of depth in the accessory socket. Please do not stick a metal tape in to measure a live plug. Because it’s a quick charge in a small package, it will get a bit warm & electrical interference on a listening device will be apparent if your vehicle has subpar/weak grounding points.

Lots of Noise When listening to the Nano While Charging

I purchased this charge because other charges created lots of hiss and other electrical noises when listening to the Nano while charging. This charger has the same problem. I will be returning it. Don't waste your money on this one.

Good Charger

I've been waiting for this charger to be released for a while as space is a concern and I wanted the smallest charger possible. I picked one up yesterday and immediately installed it in my vehicle (2009 A4) only to find out that it isn't a flush mounted install. I still have about 1/4 of an inch sticking out however it is still the smallest unit i've found to charge my iphone. I inserted the supplied USB cable and to my joy the unit functioned perfectly. Everything seems to work correctly however I have found that it heats up my iphone a little more than my previous belkin charger. All in All i'd say this is a good unit for someone looking for a small charger
