Outstanding

I've had these for about 6 months now and they are absolutely amazing. In order to ensure the most comfort and best sound you sho…Read moreuld spend at least an hour wearing each of the sizes before picking. You should go for one that forms a tight seal (if it does not seal well your bass will seem lacking), but isn't so large that it causes your ears to hurt after a short period. I use the mediums and often forget they're on. The right ear bud loops behind the neck to eliminate wire clutter. In regards to the reviews saying that the microphone died after just a few days, I'm willing to bet they tried using these headphones in another device. It should be noted that these are to ONLY be used in an iPhone (and possibly other 4-contact jack devices). When using these in a standard headphone jack it will fry your microphone. I learned this lesson with the monster microphone adapter. I just switched to these from the BOSE in-ear's. Which I have now decided are all bass and no music. The MM50's have enough bass for enthusiasts, but not so overpowering that it will chase away other users. I've used these for rock, electronic, classical, and podcasts alike. They all sound like they are supposed to, crisp and clear. Many in-ears produce muddy sound, but not the MM50's. They have done an outstanding job tweaking these buds to perfection.
Pros: Clear audio, clear microphone, around the neck wire to eliminate wire clutter, three bud sizes to choose from, comfortable, light
Cons: The button is rather small and I often have to fiddle around a bit to find it. Also the wire is not very well protected so you have to be careful not to put these in a place where the wire can become crimped. I would appreciate some thicker shielding to help prevent this in the next iteration.
Conclusion: I would definitely buy these again. $99 is a steal.(16 of 18 people found this review useful)

Most expensive headsets I've bought, Are they worth it?
Written by LC from rotherham

Having plucked up the courage I’ve just bought my first and most expensive sennheisser Headphones to date! Are they worth it? As s…Read moreoon as the postman had delivered them I was tearing into the packaging trying to get them out. On first inspection I was a bit disappointed as I’d been building up the anticipation for days and at the end of the day they’re just a pair of headphones! This was kind of fuelled by the fact that there was no protective case or bag included. Having experience from in earphones in the past I know how easy it is to loose the silicone ear buds. My last set came with a protective case and these were twice as expensive, not a good start!
Having come from Similiar in ear Sony headphones that cost half the price, these sennheisers had they’re work cut out! Especially as the sound characteristics of the sony’s had long been ingrained in my ears for the last 2 years. It’s always difficult moving to a new sound even though it may be better.
On first touch the sennheiser’s did feel a better quality. Without disclosing my rubber fetish, the cable has got a nice rubbery feel to it and the specifically designed jack plug feels sturdy enough to handle the usuable abuse that many cheaper ones fail. The cable length is just right at 1.0-1.3 m and so is the microphone positioning. The microphone has a single button that allows you to answer and end calls and also pause and start music. The speaker pods themselves were small and very lightweight with a mixture of plastic and alloy materials used. All very lightweight! The silicon buds did feel more robust and fitted better than my sony's so the lack of protective case may not be such a big issue after all. Although it is nice to look after your hard spent money! Are you listenning sennheiser!
Now the important bit, on fitting they certainly felt comfortable and hardly noticeable that I was wearing them. This was obviously due to they’re excellent size and weight. Even though I had to use the smallest buds from the 3 supplied. The sound was indeed different to what I had been accustomed to from the Sony’s over the last 2 years. Dubiously I carried on listening and after about 10 minutes I was totally sold, especially when used in anger. This is when they quality of the sound is really noticeable over cheaper headsets. The sound quality was very tight with a little less bass than what I was used to. Although this is probably because the clarity was better.
With a Frequency response of 80 – 15,000 Hz they covered all the important aspects. Incidently for those who don’t understad frequency is measured in Hertz (Hz); 1Hz = 1 cycle per second. Most humans can hear sounds between 20Hz to 20,000Hz (or 20KHz). Frequency response is the range of sounds a speaker makes: Tweeters can get up to 20KHz. Mid-ranges are 500Hz-3KHz. Woofers reach 500-200Hz. Subwoofers go deep, close to 20Hz. An earthquake, for comparison, is around 5Hz; you can't really hear it, but you can feel it in your bones! A good way to make comparisons between speakers
If you like to listen to music and also marvel at the quality of the sound then these are for you. The only down sides I can see is the lack of protective case and that because there were specifically designed for the iPhone, they will not work properly with any other device. You get a mono sound coming through. I’m sure they could have added a jack plug converter as most people also have iPods as well as iPhones.
Worth their money? Yes
Would I buy them again? Yes

Rock Out with your Sennheiser Out

Ok, so lets talk about headsets. I love my music and I needed something portable and high end. I did some searching and my buddy…Read more told me to get some v-moda's. So I did (mistake!). They were ok (for 2 months), sound quality was not much better then my apple in-ears. But what really upset me was when they broke. I sent them in, nothing physically wrong, just very static sound and I was told that they would not fix them. Real nice investment huh? So I spent about 2 hours learning about what was available and saw these. Side by side against everything else I saw, they seemed to be the best. So I bought a pair. I love my new headset. The sound clarity and bass output is amazing, they are very comfortable, and I am also a big fan of having the wire go behind the neck. Oh yea, added bonus, 2 year warranty.
