The winner of more than a dozen industry awards, VMware Fusion gives you the power of more than a decade of technology excellence, along with the user-friendly experience you expect from the Mac.
Break down the walls between Mac and PC
VMware Fusion transforms Windows applications to work seamlessly like native OS X applications. Now you can share data back and forth between Windows and Mac using Shared Folders; drag and drop files, and even copy and paste styled text. Instantly launch Windows applications from any Mac file, the Dock, Spotlight, and more. Minimize Windows applications to the Dock and quickly switch between Windows and Mac applications using Exposé.
The safest way to run Windows on your Mac
VMware Fusion makes your Windows-on-Mac experience safe and reliable, with great features like AutoProtect automated snapshots and a complimentary 12-month subscription to McAfee VirusScan Plus.
Switching is a snap
Moving to VMware Fusion has never been easier. Windows Easy Install gets you up and running in a couple of clicks. Plus, importing non-VMware virtual machines is as simple as point-and-click.
If you're a current Boot Camp user, you can run VMware Fusion right on top of your existing Boot Camp partition. And when you're ready, just import your Boot Camp partition and reclaim unused space.

BE VERY CAREFUL TRYING THIS PRODUCT!!!

I thought this was the solution to get my wife off my Dell XPS. As you Mac users know, there are MANY web sites that do not suppor…Read moret a Mac, as well as MANY, MANY industry specific software programs that do not support Mac. When my wife encounters that issue, why reboot to open Windows XP on her iMac when she can simply jump on my computer?! So this was to make it easy and convenient for her to stay off my machine.
BUT!!!!! Instead of successfully importing the Boot Camp partition, it corrupted the partition and destroyed it! ALL GONE!!! Now, for me, I am lucky. I am only out the Pain in the Neck factor of having to reload all the drivers and updates (still, not happy about that)--mostly because my wife never saved anything in XP. BUT, IF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE STUFF SAVED--stuff you don't want to lose, I HIGHLY recommend you save it ALL first. I suggest Acronis True Image as the lowest maintenance solution.
Personally, I would just stick with using boot camp...who wants the risk/hassle of rebuilding!!(18 of 40 people found this review useful)

Brilliant but still no Aero

Having tried a number of different virtualisation products, I found VMware to be the best of the bunch although most of them are q…Read moreuite similar both in terms of technology and features.
Fusion performance is good and the virtual machines are running reliably. Fusion allows me to run Linux Ubuntu 8, Vista Ultimate and Windows Server on my Mac simultaneously without any issues. It's very easy and quick to set up too.
The "Unity" mode, which brings Windows applications to the Mac desktop seamlessly, is an interesting feature from a technological standpoint.
However, as with every other virtualisation software, the Fusion graphics drivers still do not support Windows Aero Glass or the full Gnome (Linux) 3D graphics. Is it not about time the engineers built more sophisticated graphics drivers? Loses one star because of that.(9 of 11 people found this review useful)

I didn't initially buy VM because there were so few reviews. After one month of trying everything to get Parallels to work properly, I scrapped it, and bought VM Fusion 2.0. It works fabulously, and the unity feature is excellent. Also, there is a way how to make it so the desktop on Windows or whatever other OIS you use matches the one on your Mac.

This is a very impressive bit of software.
I actually received version 1.1.2 along with the order of a newly purchased Mac Mini…Read more. Upon installing I was then directed to a free upgrade to v2.0. Downloaded and installed it, and then was treated to the unexpected delight of being able to import an existing W2K virtual machine from Virtual PC 7 off of the G5 tower I am banishing to the basement for the crime of excessive fan noise.
Not only does the imported W2K system work flawlessly, but it also runs much faster than it did before because VMWare allows one to allocate 1GB memory to the virtual machine (vs only 512M allowed by VPC7). From start to finish the whole process took less than an hour, and I was spared the irritation of a miserable afternoon building and configuring a new Windows installation. Hats-off to the engineers at VMWare for a job well done!(325 of 354 people found this review useful)
