  1. (1) The AirPort Express Base Station is based on an IEEE 802.11n draft specification and is compatible with IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b, and IEEE 802.11g.
  2. (2) Based on a comparison with Apple's 802.11g products. Comparison assumes AirPort Express network with 802.11n-enabled computer. Speed and range will be less if an 802.11a/b/g product joins the network. Accessing the wireless network requires an AirPort- or AirPort Extreme-enabled computer or other Wi-Fi Certified 802.11a/b/g-enabled computer. Actual performance will vary based on range, connection rate, site conditions, size of network, and other factors. Range will vary with site conditions.
  3. (3) Wireless Internet access requires a wireless-enabled computer, a base station or other access point, and Internet access (fees may apply). Some ISPs are not currently compatible with AirPort Express.

It was also very simple to set up a password to secure my network. I've had a Linksys base for the past 5 years and had a lot of problems with my connection.
I highly recommend the Airport Express. Two thumbs up!!

Little router with a big impact

    Written by DT from Toronto

I got the Airport Express to replace my Linksys WRT54G router, which was dropping my connection all the time to my two macs.

I Read morecouldn't believe the size of this little thing. It's pretty much the same size as the power adapter for my powerbook! It's pretty funky looking, not big and awkward looking like my linksys router either.

Works as advertised too... I did an online speed test for both my macs and scored an all-time high for my powerbook and imac! Unreal speed to say the least, I'm thrilled.

Pros: Great speed, stylish, small, works with my stereo too :)

Cons: I gotta admit, it was a little difficult to set up this router. Not as easy to set up for me as running the Airport Utility, I had to configure a few things with my ISP. Oh well, it was worth the wait! It's a little pricey too for a router but if it continues to perform like this, yeah, I can justify the extra $$$.
