"...keep your iPod under control..." <-truth in advertising?

If your car is not US standard plug... To say the least, I would not buy this thing. Taped and glued to my dash are the remnants of this device --as having the phone connected to the Sony BT for over-the-speaker HF calls with Aux jack works great. We all need something of a better design that can provide the functionality of a similar sorts, but this is not the one. Forgetaboutit and keep looking.

Great in theory only

The unit is flimsy, especially at the connection to the iPhone/iPod. After only 3 uses and while on a 12 hour drive, I lost sound…Read more from right side of my vehicle while using my iPhone. Attempts to reseat resulted in sound coming and going. Switched to iPod, same result. Great idea -- poor quality of hardware! Wish I could find my receipt so I could take this waste of money back to Best Buy where I purchased it.

Error Messages, Ear Splitting Static, and Poor Design
Written by SK from San Jose

This product does not work with my first generation iPhone. I sometimes get "this device is not designed to work with the iPhone d…Read moreo you want to switch to Airplane Mode" message, which I do not do often, since I usually need my phone on. Because of the location of where it plugs into my car ('99 Acura TL), I scrape my knuckles when I put the car into park or reverse. If I try to lean the phone off to the side to save my knuckles, then as I drive, it tips completely over to the side. Also, perhaps because of the proximity to the stereo, there is terrible ear-spltting static (interferance) while listening to audio to the point where I have to switch the phone to airplane mode or stop listening to whatever I had on. The release button only worked well for one side, and the other side is now broken (probably because I had to pull on it to get my phone out. I have talked to tech support 4 times about the interference problem, error message, and the physical problems, with no resolution. Seems like it could be a great product (and probably is in some cars), but I cannot use it and am looking for a replacement.

A Great Car solution for the Iphone and Iphone 3G

I was using the tune flex for the longest time and this dock not only keeps the iphone secure, but you can rotate the dock to see video in horizontal mode.. The Remote that comes with this is amazing. The only downside I can see is it doesn't have much of a flex so, placement may be a problem for some people depending on where your cigarette adapter is?

Great Idea, Poorly Executed
Written by JI from Berryville

I've been looking and waiting for a full aux-port cradle solution for years, and I couldn't wait to purchase this. Unfortunately,…Read more my overall impression is "meh."
The system works as advertised. That said, the build quality is flimsy at best -- the remote literally fell apart (into pieces that shouldn't have come off) while I removed the battery cover to install the battery, only one of the extending arms actually extends properly (the other hangs and has to be yanked out), and the flexible post is too short for its stiffness, so bending it to a usable angle causes it to flex the base so hard that I worry about it snapping. Also, forget using this in a recessed power jack; it needs one fairly flush (and unobstructed) with the dash because of the too-short flex-arm. I really wanted to like this, and it's just been a big disappointment in quality for $100.00.(117 of 133 people found this review useful)

Great product! Exactly what I have been looking for!!!!

I have been waiting for a cradle that used the accessory outlet to charge and hold the iphone for a long time. This product was p…Read moreerfect for me as a cradle/charger, and also adds the aux output cable and wireless remote.
I combined this with a bluetooth speaker phone (or a headset would work) and am very happy with the functionality I'm getting.
My iphone fits on the cradles and charges even with the case still on, and has re-sizeable arms to keep everything in place. The neck is strong enough to hold up the iphone without too much bouncing around and is fairly flexible. It rotates easily so the cover flow view is easy to switch to (which is very cool to use cover flow with the remote). The aux cord is pretty short, but there is an extension cord included. Also the distance the arm puts from the stereo is enough to almost eliminate the buzzing sounds (this will vary from car to car). Other cradles I tried couldn't do this because they attached to the windshield or dash and were too close to the stereo.
If a call comes in, the music fades out and I can activate my bluetooth speaker, take the call and when I hang up the music starts up again where I left off.
Simple, no installation necessary, and covers all the functions I was looking for. After trying 4-5 different cradles, FM transmitters, messing with lots of wires, suction cups, clips, and several near accidents, it is really nice to have a simple little system that covers all the bases without the hassle and constant fumbling.
The only issue I really had was that my cigarette lighter is horizontal as opposed to vertical which the design is aimed at), so finding a good position was a little tricky, but I managed find a very comfortable and viewable location after a little twisting and bending...
(If you don't have a aux input or a cassette player in your car this won't be as effective, but it is still a good charger/cradle).(114 of 128 people found this review useful)
