Bluetooth technology, ultimate portability
With its secure, reliable Bluetooth technology, wireless Mighty Mouse goes wherever you do. Pair it with any Bluetooth-enabled Mac to work untethered and uncluttered at your desk or on the go, and it operates with either one or two AA batteries — no bulky dock required.
Laser tracking engine
The wireless Mighty Mouse features a laser tracking engine that's up to 20 times more sensitive to surface details than traditional optical technology. That means it can track with precision on more surfaces than ever — even smooth or polished surfaces — with no mouse pad required.
Innovative Scroll Ball and button
Perfectly positioned to roll smoothly under just one finger, Mighty Mouse's Scroll Ball offers full 360-degree scrolling capability — up/down, left/right and diagonally. You can scroll long web pages, pan full-size images, maneuver around large spreadsheets, control a video timeline and more. And you can even click the Scroll Ball to access your favorite Mac OS X features such as Dashboard, Spotlight or Exposé.
Touch-sensitive top shell
It looks and feels like a sleek one-button mouse, but Mighty Mouse's smooth top shell hides a powerful secret: touch-sensitive technology under the shell detects which part of the mouse you're clicking, so you can both left-click and right-click. And if you prefer the simplicity of a classic one-button mouse, Mighty Mouse is up to the task. Just use the Mac OS X system preference pane to configure it how you want.
Force-sensing side buttons
When you give Mighty Mouse a squeeze, force-sensing side buttons can be configured to activate Mac OS X features such as Dashboard, Exposé or a whole host of other customizable features.
Customizable
Through the power of Mac OS X Tiger, Mighty Mouse gives you fingertip access to the special features you love. Simply use the system preference panel to configure Mighty Mouse in the way that makes you most powerful. Control the Scroll Ball's tracking, zoom and click functions, as well as the right, left and side click functions. And you even can set up different mouse profiles for every user account on your Mac.

I don't know why everyone is saying that this is a bad product. I have had a wired mighty mouse for 7 months, and it hasn't had an…Read morey trouble at all in regards to the Scroll Ball. The dirt hasn't affected mine in any way. The only slight problem is the lag when sometimes clicking on an icon. Overall, I WOULD recommend this mouse.

Nice design but function needs improving

I purchased the Wireless Mighty Mouse with a Macbook since I primary plug into a external monitor 80% of the time.
Positives:
Nic…Read moree design
Easy to configure
Negatives:
About once every 2 days the mouse will disconnect from laptop - I have to turn bluetooth off and on and this fixes the problem.
Bottom cover is flimsy, and barely stays on.
Trackball does get dirty, I turn the mouse upside down and rub with an alcohol wipe every week, this seems to work well.
Does not slide nicely on all surfaces, a cheap plastic mousepad works wonders.
The side buttons are bit difficult to depress.
Conclusion:
For the price Apple could supply a better quality product, for this price point I expect near perfection. The Mr. Softy makes a better functional mice, but I am trying to get away from the dark side.

Not a very green mouse...

The amount of batteries this wireless mouse goes through is unbelievable! I inserted brand new ones 3 weeks ago, and despite the f…Read moreact that I turn the mouse off every night, they have now run out again! If you have a hint of an ecological conscience (and try to keep your expenses low) stay way clear of this not-so-mighty mouse. Also, the tracking's not great either, and last but not least, £48 for a mouse that clearly hasn't cost more than 50p to produce goes beyond a joke, even for Apple.

This is not a review - it's a fix for the scroller.

We all know this is a great mouse. I'm on my second one. But I've had a problem with the scrolling on both mice. I didn't mind bu…Read moreying a second one after the first one stopped working but I wasn't about to buy a third one, no matter how mighty they are.
It turns out that after a few months of regular use the mouse stops scrolling either up or down or sideways or all ways according to my experience and others that I have read.
I went to the Apple store by my house today and talked to a guy about sending this mouse in for repair since I have only had it a few months. He said I needed an appointment, but he also said it was easily fixed. He advised me to clean the roller ball on the top with alcohol wipes or a q-tip soaked in alcohol.
I thought it wouldn't work but since I had to wait for my appointment to send it in to apple I tried it and cleaned it thoroughly with alcohol and a q-tip. I let it dry for five minutes and it works like new.
I am very pleased with the advice I got and just wanted to share with some of you who might be having the same problem.(6187 of 7436 people found this review useful)

The bluetooth mighty Mouse is a great concept unfortunately its quality falls short. Being a production house we have somewhere a…Read moreround 10 mighty mouses, unfortuanelty all but one are in the junk pile. The roller ball simply stops working after a couple months, (very annoying), and yes we have done all the prescribed methods of cleaning, which only temporarily fixed issue, if at all. Hopefull Apple will correct this problem soon. Also the right click function usually suffers the next breakdown. Unfortunatey this mouse is just not up to par with other wireless devices.

The sales rep told me in the Apple store that the aluminum case on the Mac Pro doesn't allow for a good signal back to the mouse. I'm telling you it's got to be the worst mouse I ever used. I purchased the wired mouse and I now can operate the Mac the way it should be. Stay away if you have a Mac Pro.
