Overview
The super.fi 4 VI features integrated voice functionality and is specifically designed for use with the iPhone. A miniature high performance microphone allows for hands free phone calls. In-line multifunction button answers and ends calls and controls music/video on iPhone. Inside the Ultimate Ears super.fi 4 VI is a proprietary balanced armature speaker for a full spectrum audio experience. The proprietary armature is tuned for full and detailed bass while delivering crisp and clean highs. While the noise isolating design reduces ambient interference and sound quality. The armature is embedded in an anodised aluminium housing that is both small and lightweight and is an atheistic complement to the iPhone.

Having subsequently read the reviews on the US Apple Store, it seems this is far from being an isolated occurrence as a large number of them complain about exactly the same problem. It's a real shame, because the sound quality is excellent. If only the wires and connections were of a similar quality.

I have used these for around 3 months now and I think they are the most annoying pair of headphones I have ever bought.
On the …Read moreplus side the build quality seems good.
The downside is that the sound quality is acceptable only if you can get a good fit with the buds. For me, even when using the largest buds, the slightest pull on the cables results in the bud popping out and rubbish quality sound.
This means that I can't use the headphones if I plan on turning my head, for instance if I'd like to make sure it's safe to cross a road. The problem is worse if I've had a shower and my ears are wet.
For me these were a complete a waste of money...(2 of 3 people found this review useful)

Firstly the left bud simply crackled and stopped working (faulty internal wiring I assume), while the second pair's remote stopped working entirely.

I bought these in New York just before christmas as the normal apple headset keeps falling out of my ears.
