    Greatest Post-Film Suite. Period.

There could not be a better suite ever. This comes with Final Cut Pro, the great compiler! Motion, stunning 3D Effects! Color, fix your film's saturations and hues, beautifully! SoundTrack Pro, a genius editing software for cutting, creating and taking bad noises out of a film's soundtrack. DVD Pro, an outstanding DVD creator. Compressor, obliterate quality straining with this incredible tool! This comes with other handy features and tools to make your movie perfect! Not for the people low on budget but once you have it, it pays for itself in one edit!

Final Cut Studio works perfect, Compressor could be a little better, but Final Cut Pro, Motion, DVD Studio Pro, and Sound Track Pro are some of the best programs i've ever used!!!

    Couldn't be happier

I got a Macbook Pro (from before the '08 models came out) with 4 gigs ram, 2.6 GHz intel core 2 Duo and 200 Gigs of memory. Every program runs like a dream. I have no complaints, everything runs top notch and very smoothly. I say it is a solid investment and well worth the money.

    Excellent, except for integrated BluRay

I have used FCP since version 3 came out, and I have only positive things to say about the interface. After purchasing a HVX200 P2 camera, the Log and Transfer feature and native DVCPROHD codecs from Panasonic have provided me with an especially smooth experience from my own home videos to the educational/promotional videos I do. The advent of Motion also added user-friendly animation enhancement, and Soundtrack Pro's audio tools have been easy to use, and of good quality.

However, I must indicate how surprised I am that Apple has yet to offer BluRay hardware on new machines, and "BluRay Studio Pro" as a part of FCS. After the long initial wait, and then another long wait after HD DVD was pronounced dead, I can no longer wait for Apple to pick it up. I bought Encore a few days ago. Yet, as soon as Apple supports BluRay, I will come to it with open arms, but for now Adobe gets a shot. Apple is supposed to be the industry leader in video production-pick up the pace with the latest and greatest formats!

    No re-install option for compressor

I have been a loyal FCP customer since the beginning. Since the last apple update, compressor has stopped working. There is no way to reinstall just compressor given the upgrade path.

Since everything we do in the studio these days is HD and Apple does not support blue ray, the only solution may be to switch to Adobe.

Still no Blu-ray Support? Here I come Adobe

    Written by JI from WALTON

Totally unsatisfactory for such a "high-end" suite to still not support Blu-ray authoring. What is the point of getting DVD Studio Pro over Adobe's Encore, when it is only Encore that can create a Blu-ray? There over 40 million households with HD TV's now in the US. The HD format Apple signed onto 4 years ago in March of 2005 has won the HD Disc war. Homes with Blu-ray players exceeded 10 million in February. Most major computer makers ship Blu-ray as an option, Dell or Sony anyone? Apple is missing the boat on this. THE industry LEADER now in HD authoring and disc creation, including Blu-ray is Adobe now. Apple used to be the industry leader, the must-have for non-linear production. Just be aware, if you buy this product, you will be limited right out of the box - NO Blu-ray support.

    Final Cut Studio 2

I have been using this software since 1999 when I began recording sermons and putting them on DVD's. As time has gone by this software package (although costly) has become the most used software on my computer. The newest version (6) has finally brought this software package to maturity. With the benefits of bringing in "live" titles in the time line I have save many hours of work each week.
Keep up the good work (and perhaps you could lower the upgrade cost!! - (I have invested over $3900 (since'99) just to stay current!!)
    Thanks

I've been using FCP2 for about a year editing live stage performances. FCP2 has everything you need to make a great, professionally edited performance, and produce a DVD that has the quality of anything you have in your movie collection. Even with the sometimes unavoidable problems associated with capturing a live performance, FCP2 had the resources to fix just about any video and audio problem that surfaced, and with great ease.
